Since Donald Trump's election, the credit risk
of two of the world's most important nations has diverged dramatically...
Aside from Chile, China's
credit risk has worsened quite notably in the last 7 weeks since Donald
Trump was elected.
But, as Bloomberg
notes below, Russian credit risk has collapsed. In
fact, it’s turning out to be the best
December for Russia’s credit risk since at least 2004. The
premium paid for protection against a debt default by the government has fallen
21 percent so far this month, the best showing in the world.

you were curious, USA default/devaluation risk has risen 'relatively' notably
since the election...

Following a dramatic
surge in US oil rig counts the last two weeks, Baker
Hughes reports oil rigs rose once again (the 28th weekly rise of the last 30)
by 13 to 523 - the highest since the
first week of January 2016.

After a year and a half of one-way selling, the
Treasury holdings in the Fed's custody account have jumped by $60 billion in the
past month, suggesting that central banks are once
again back and aggressively buying US Treasuries.

In an odd divergence, the latest UMichigan consumer sentiment
print hit a 12 year high, rising from 93.8 in November to 98.2, even as
long-term inflation expectation, those in the 5-10 year bucket, dropped from
2.50% to 2.30%, a new all time low print. However, confirming the
political bias behind the report, UMich chief economist Richard Curtin said
that "sentiment
is likely to fall in coming months."

find that 94% of net job growth in the past decade was in the alternative work

to control militarily, leaving only the financial option available. In this
sense, the role of central banks and the de-dollarization process are a core
strategic interest for these countries as a way of maintaining their full
sovereignty. In going in this direction, they deliver a dramatic blow to US
aspirations for a global empire.

While the United States has harped for over five years about
the “humanitarian crisis” and manufactured Syrian government “crimes against
humanity,” the
recent hysteria over “civilians” trapped in East Aleppo has really taken the
cake. Now, however, after hearing about how Assad has “barrel
bombed,” “tortured,” “burned alive,” and otherwise maimed civilians in East
Aleppo (who are themselves committing mass suicide to evade Syrian government
forces according to mainstream outlets), the real reason for the increase in
hysteria has finally come to light.
The real reason for America’s
concern is not because of civilians at all or even because of their terrorist
proxies who will soon be totally annihilated in East Aleppo. It is because their own intelligence
officers are stuck in East Aleppo, completely surrounded by Syrian
military forces, and their capture will not only weaken the Western operation
in the country, it will reveal to the world what most already know – that the
U.S. and its allies are working hand-in-glove with the terrorists it claims are
moderates.
This is precisely what Syria’s ambassador to the United
Nations, Dr. Bashar al-Ja’afari, stated when he released the names of these
intelligence officers in an address before reporters at the U.N. After a
sarcastic remark about how the operatives were “nice people,” a reporter asked
about the list of intelligence operatives. Ja’afari then again sarcastically
corrected her by saying “No. No. They are Syrian moderate opposition. Genetically
modified.”
