ECONOMICS

Panic is on the way!

Starting where we normally finish, the energy complex carnage this week has been a big factor with today's WTI crash the biggest in 5 months, weighing notably on stocks...

Commodities were all lower on the day, led by crude, but silver got clubbed early...

Silver was slammed early on today...

“PADD 1 is a holy mess,” said Andrew Lebow, senior partner at Commodity Research Group in Darien, Connecticut. “It is very unusual. If a market becomes extremely oversupplied, like PADD 1, they are going to have to cut runs.”That is another way of saying refiners will have to stay shut, which in turn will force crude to  build up in various on and offshore storage locations.

While the $5.9tr US IG corporate bond market represents only 12% of that global market, it is now responsible for 33.0% of its total (effective) yield payment. In other words, nearly one in three (global) dollars paid out in the global IG broad market is paid to investors in the US IG corporate bond market.

While nonfarm and ADP payrolls data starts to roll over, along with The Fed's labor market conditions indicator, initial jobless claims re-plunged back to its lowest since 1973. A significant drop of 16k to 254k is the lowest - except for a brief April dip - in 43 years...

Following May's disastrous payrolls print, drastically below ADP's guess, expectations for June were already marked down from 173k last month to 160k (with a whisper number well below 100k as ADP 'adjusts' itself back to payrolls 'reality') but in a surprise turn, printed a better than expected 172k gain (revising May down modestly) suggesting as Zandi proclaims "last month's weak payrolls data was an outlier." However, both Manufacturing (-5k) and Construction (-12k) tumbled but Services-related jobs soared 208k miraculously.

Why do we stand for this?

Is it worth impairing the reputation of the FBI and the Department of Justice to save Hillary Clinton from a deserved criminal prosecution by playing word games?
What has become of the rule of law – no one is beneath its protections or above its requirements – when the American public can witness a game of political musical chairs orchestrated by Bill Clinton at an airport in a bizarre ruse to remove the criminal investigation of his wife from those legally responsible for making decisions about it?

How hairsplitting can the FBI be in acknowledging "extreme carelessness" while denying "gross negligence" about the same events, at the same time, and in the same respect?

These are questions that now beg for answers in light of what can only be the politically motivated FBI report delivered earlier this week on the likely criminal behavior of Hillary Clinton.

The FBI's decision to recommend that no charges be brought against Hillary Clinton has been labeled a double standard of epic proportions, and now the decision will trigger further unintended consequences. A Marine Corps officer who has been locked in a legal battle with his service after self-reporting that he improperly disseminated classified information now intends to demand the same treatment that Hillary received.

During testimony before Congress on Thursday, FBI Director James Comey stated that the FBI’s interview with presumptive Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was not under oath or recorded, but was careful to point out for all the peons’listening that it still would be a crime to lie to the FBI.

There are often very severe consequences in the FBI involving their employment, their pay, their clearances...”

Having stunned even the most liberal of liberal media outlets with his seemingly unexplainable decision not to bring charges against Hillary Clinton (thus nullifying six criminal laws), FBI Director Jim Comey faces an oversight bloodbath today in front of the House Oversight Committee. However, what few may not know about the "deeply philosophical, religion major" is that he spent three short years (just enough for Dalio to realize 'value') being "probed" at the world's largest hedge fund - Bridgewater, peddling "radical transparency."

"We have upcoming leaks in relation to Hillary Clinton, which is great, WikiLeaks has a very big year ahead. We have emails related to Hillary Clinton which are pending publication, that is correct."

Asked about the FBI investigation itself, and how Assange believed that would end, Assange said that there have been enough emails released that could lead to an indictment.

Have no fear, Banco Popolare has run its own stress test (on itself) and has stated that it is "resilient to shocks." However, it appears investors do not believe them as Italian banks, led by Monte Paschi (which as a reminder is under a short-sale ban) plunged to new record lows.

This is a Cold War that grows increasingly hotter, with proxy wars now raging in Eastern Ukraine and Syria and with confrontations in the South China Sea. There is an ever growing likelihood that these points of tension will flare up into an all out military conflict.

That to Be Anti Monsanto
Is to Be Pro Global-Warming?

On June 27th, I reported Hillary Clinton’s having privately told GMO industry lobbyists, on 25 June 2014, that the federal government should subsidize GMO firms in order to enable them to buy “insurance against risk,” and that without such federal subsidies, “this [insurance] is going to be an increasing challenge” for the industry to afford. I also reported that, in an interview she did immediately afterward with the GMO industry’s lobbying organization’s (the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s, or BIO’s) head, she compared the opponents of GMOs to the opponents of action in response to global warming; she said, in effect, that both environmental groups are ignoramuses who don’t know what scientists are saying about both the ’safety’ of GMOs and the dangers of global warming.

The FORTUNE article also assumed, as did Hillary Clinton’s presentation to GMO lobbyists and to their chief, the equal validity of the 97% of global warming scientists who believe that human-caused global warming is real, and of the GMO-corporate-funded bio-‘scientists’ who allege that GMOs have been proven to be safe long-term for human consumption and for the environment.
