"Current levels of complacency are alarming. This is what everyone
is talking about. Despite growing
uncertainties and tensions, the market volatility refuses to rise. Persistence
of low volatility is increasing the penalty for potential dissent and
reinforces one sided positioning. As a consequence, the risk of disorderly unwind is growing."

Having broken its win-streak with the biggest drop in 4 weeks today
following Russia comments, crude prices hovered around $45 as API reported a massive 5.8mm
barrel crude draw (most since 2016) and 5.7mm gasoline draw (most in 4 months).

Traffic Analytics have revealed that the US consumer continued to hibernate
into the July 4th weekend, with North American store
traffic 8.1% lower in the week leading up to the July 4 holiday weekend, a
steeper drop than the year-to-date trend of down "only" 6.6%.

About 70% of college students – equal to about
44 million Americans - owe a collective
$1.4 trillion in student debt. And while the standard repayment plan
for federal loans suggests that they should take no more than 10 years to pay
back, in reality, it regularly takes twice that long.

"The documents reveal for the first
time the vast scale of US government
control in Hollywood, including the ability to manipulate scripts or even prevent films too critical of the Pentagon
from being made... This raises new questions not only about the
way censorship works in the modern entertainment industry, but also about Hollywood’s little known role as a
propaganda machine for the US national security apparatus."

"Self
restraint, which is a choice, is all that separates armistice and war. As this Alliance missile live fire shows,
we are able to change our choice when so ordered by our Alliance national

Both Russia and China said military force should not be considered
against North Korea and called for a halt to the deployment of a U.S. missile
defense system in South Korea. Meanwhile, responding to what appears to be a
preemptive veto by Russia and China, the US said that it was prepared to ignore the UN resolution,
and would go "its own path" if needed.

The war drums are beating louder, and as US Ambassador to the UN Nicky
Haley said moments ago as she speaks live (webcast),
the North Korea launch is clear, sharp military escalation and the US will use
the full range of its capabilities in North Korea including military force,
"if it must."

Speaking in an interview with France 24, Turkish president Erdogan warned that Turkey
is ready to intervene militarily in the north of Syria to repel Syrian Kurdish

North Korea Closes Off Diplomacy, Military Options on Table, US UN Ambassador https://sputniknews.com/world/201707051055266878-north-korea-united-nations-diplomacy/
FACT: we cut
diplomacy by installing Thaat missiles in South Korea. What we have now is only
the pretext for the 1st nuke- strike n to start WW3 against RU-China.
The US-NATO target is not N-K. The Thaat missils already installed are against
China-RU. And they may respond the 1st strike by hitting the US Co
manufacturing nuke weapons + plus Penta.
North
Korea's destabilizing actions are closing off the possibility of a diplomatic
solution and could force the United States to take military action, US
Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said on Wednesday.
"North Korea's destabilizing escalation is a threat to all
nations, in the region and beyond. Their actions are quickly closing
off the possibility of a diplomatic solution. The United States is
prepared to use the full range of our capabilities to defend
ourselves and our allies. One of our capabilities lies with our
considerable military forces. We will use them if we must," Haley said at an urgent meeting of the United
Nations Security Council.
French Ambassador to the United Nations
Francois Delattre told reporters on Wednesday.
"I hope we can come
up with a strong message from the Council, strong in terms of unity
and strong in terms of its content not only to condemn this
launch which is an unacceptable breach of the non-proliferation regime
but also on the way forward," Delattre
said.
Meanwhile, the United States will not continue
trade agreements with countries that allow trade with North Korea, US
Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said on Wednesday.
"There are countries that are allowing, even encouraging trade
with North Korea in violation of UN Security Council
resolutions. Such countries would also like to continue their trade
arrangements with the United States. That is not going
to happen," Haley stated.

The
United States warned that it might use military force against North Korea or
sever trade relations with China if the international community fails to take
strong action against Pyongyang, as both Russia and China warned against any
further escalation of a tense situation in their backyard.
US ESCALATES RHETORIC
US
Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley insisted on Wednesday
that North Korea's actions were "quickly closing off the possibility
of a diplomatic solution," leaving Washington few options
except military force.
"The United States is
prepared to use the full range of our capabilities to defend ourselves
and our allies. One of our capabilities lies with our considerable
military forces. We will use them if we must," Haley
said at an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council.
She also
warned that the United States could sever its bilateral trade agreements
with countries that continue to do business with North Korea.
"There are countries
that are allowing, even encouraging trade with North Korea
in violation of UN Security Council resolutions. Such countries would
also like to continue their trade arrangements with the United
States. That is not going to happen," Haley
said, in a clear reference to China.
RUSSIA AND CHINA URGE CAUTION
Russia's
Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations Vladimir Safronkov said that
Moscow shares the concerns of the international community over North
Korea's nuclear and missile programs, but cautioned that the military
option should be taken off the table.
"The possibility
of taking military measures to resolve the problems of the
Korean peninsula should be excluded," Safronkov
said.
Likewise, China's UN envoy Liu
Jieyi warned that the crisis could not be resolved through military means.
"China has always been
firmly opposed to chaos and conflict on the peninsula. Military means
must not be an option in this regard," Liu said. "We call
on all the parties concerned to exercise restraint, avoid provocative
actions and belligerent rhetoric, demonstrate the will for unconditional
dialogue and work actively together to defuse the tension."
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who also ruled
out both military force and crippling sanctions.
"Any attempts
to justify a military decision, using as a pretext [UN] Security
Council resolutions, are unacceptable and will lead to unpredictable
consequences in this region, which is adjacent to both the Russian
Federation and the People's Republic of China. Attempts
to economically strangle the DPRK are unacceptable too," Lavrov said.

politics: internal contradict.. Hugh Smith good articles reproduced

You’ve probably seen some version
of this chart of average household income in America before. (You may have seen charts of median
household income as well; here’s an article on the difference between
the two methods of measurement: American
families are learning the difference between median and mean)
Here’s the data in table format, if you prefer: Household Income Quintiles.
The point is that there is an
enormous difference between the average household incomes of the bottom 80% and
the top 10%, 5% and 1%. It’s
important to separate the various income brackets, as including the top
households distorts the average. Here we see the average household income of
the bottom 80% of households is around $50,000, while the average income of the
top 10% (which includes the wealthy 1% and the super-wealthy .1%) is almost
four times greater: $185,000.
You’ve probably seen a version of
this chart, too, which shows that the real (inflation adjusted)
income of the bottom 90% has gone nowhere for the past 40+ years.
While the mainstream wrings its
hands over the political and social fragmentation that is visible everywhere,
it ignores the economic fragmentation that’s the source: we’re fragmenting because our experience of
our economy and society is fragmenting.
In the good old days of secular growth of everything–energy
consumption, wages, profits, employment, government spending,
consumer debt, housing construction, business investment and consumer spending–people in every economic class shared a common experience
that the financial future of their household was improving.
