Ratio of Nasdaq To Commodities

The Nasdaq Composite Index is trading at a 152x multiple of the Bloomberg Commodity Index, surpassing even the highs seen during the Dot Com bubble. The average since the end of 2001 is nearer 37. That divergence stems from the Nasdaq approaching record highs set earlier this year while commodities languish near pandemic-crisis lows.

And then there's this utter bullshit... Small Caps are the most overvalued... ever... by a bloody mile!

As a reminder - this is what none other than Jay Powell said in 2012:

"I think we are actually at a point of encouraging risk-taking, and that should give us pauseInvestors really do understand now that we will be there to prevent serious losses. It is not that it is easy for them to make money but that they have every incentive to take more risk, and they are doing so

Meanwhile, we look like we are blowing a fixed-income duration bubble right across the credit spectrum that will result in big losses when rates come up down the road. You can almost say that that is our strategy."
Trade accordingly.

The dot com bubble was for amateurs.
As the Bloomberg commodity analyst notes, the Nasdaq is trading at a 152x multiple of the Bloomberg Commodity Index, surpassing the highs seen during the Dot Com bubble by almost a factor of two!

In other words, the bulk of newly created liquidity has flooded into stocks even as commodities - which tend to be a far better representation of the overall economic state - languish.

The average ratio since the end of 2001 has been nearer 37. That divergence  stems from the Nasdaq approaching record highs set earlier this year while commodities languish near pandemic-crisis lows.

As vander Walt concludes, "And while the tech-heavy shares in the Nasdaq aren’t big consumers of industrial metals and oil, this matters because it shows just how disconnected stock prices have become from the real economy. Something has got to give."

Only when mobility increases more than halfway back from full-lockdown levels to pre-lockdown levels is there a risk of the reproduction number moving back above one

As governments ease lockdown restrictions, attention is focused on the risk of a second wave of COVID-19 infections. And, as JPMorgan writes, "the message from most people is: so far, so good, although as everyone also recognizes the lags with COVID-19 are long, so that three-to-four weeks need to pass in order to see how easing restrictions will impact new infections."

The bank's conclusion: "A second wave of COVID-19 infection may or may not come to Western Europe. But it is much too early to assume that it won’t."

One final note: we are confident that the largest US bank being one of the biggest beneficiaries of a new round of massive QE to be launched by the Fed if and when a second wave hits, had almost no impact on this analysis.

ONE MORE BLACK  or CIVILIAN MAN DEAD?

The AP just published new information about the officer who was attacked in Brooklyn. The officer was on an anti-looting patrol when he was attacked. The attacker was shot, as were two officers who were with the victim. The suspect is in critical condition after being "shot multiple times".
.
….
MY COMMENT:

In most looting cases the civilian is not armed and they don’t go to stores to find police in uniform to shoot them.
It is in reverse, the police come to stores to defend the owner of the store. [Besides, there is not evidence that the thief was armed.  Check the store camera].
What happens now is that the police is only prepared to shoot civilians not to dissuade or using martial arts to reduce the thief.

SO THE CASE TODAY  IS SIMPLY ANOTHER INHUMAN CRIME, IF the thief dies

That is why we said that the police have to be re-organzed. We can’t cure the evil by using the means that brought it about. IF the Police don’t accept re-organization.. Trump proposal to cut their budget is OK.

What about the army?  They are also trained to kill civilians, not to solve the problem of looting stores. If they use their arms to kill the poor in America (a thief is an unemployed person, not a rich person) they are anti-americans using war tactics Agst foreing invaders, but now Agst our Nation.

So,  the  army is committing a crime Agst humanity. IF they are not processed with Laws, then the civilian has the right to arm brigades of snipers to DEFEND THERMSELVES .

OF COURSE the good soldiers of America will not shoot other Americans to protect the re-election of a current President.  We saw in US ex-militaries using their ex- uniform to defend people’causes.

We can see later on militaries in  exercise assuming the defense of real American causes. ]

Washington and Los Angeles lifted their curfews, while a bipartisan pair of lawmakers asked for a "briefing" on violence at the protests.

NYC's Police Commissioner Dermot Shea replied that the city "absolutely" doesn't need the military to come help suppress the violence.

Meanwhile, the push to cut police department budgets his beginning with NYC Comptroller calling for a $1.1 billion reduction in spending on the NYPD over the next four years. Given the drop in local tax revenue, we imagine that many departments - though mostly urban departments that probably could use the manpower, while suburbs continue their longtime trend of over policing.

Not only is Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser scrapping a curfew for Thursday night (since there were no arrests among the peaceful protesters who gathered in the city, she's also calling for all national guard troops from other states to be withdrawn from the capital district immediately

On 2 June 2020, the medical journal The Lancet (Elsevier group) put out a cautionary notice regarding an article it had previously published on the dangerousness of hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of Covid-19 [1].
On its part, in a recent article, The Guardian highlighted the flimsiness of the study’s basic data, provided by US analytics company Surgisphere [2].
Others involved in the study but who are not affiliated with Surgisphere [3], have requested an investigation into the origin and reliability of the data which was used.
The Lancet has indicated that it is awaiting the outcome of the investigation before pronouncing itself on the reliability of the study [4].

The downward spiral: according to some sections of the media, the civil unrest in America is the result of systemic racism. This explains the protests and the rioting… Or does it? The commanding heights controlling the financial system, media, and the business world are loath to admit that the economy is to blame. For them, race always trumps class.
