Public opposition to the sovereignty killing corporate giveaway marketed as a free trade deal known as the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) has become so widespread that all the leading candidates for the U.S. Presidency are publicly against it. Specifically, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are virulently opposed, while Hillary Clinton is pretending to be against it in order to harvest votes.

Essentially, the more time the American public has to learn about this scam, the more they are against it. Which is precisely why the Obama administration wants to push it through as quickly as possible.

If the Democratic Party, for which I have voted throughout my life, nominates Hillary Clinton for President, then I (being neither ignorant, nor stupid, nor psychopathic) will consider the Democratic Party, and the people who vote for it, as being now run by psychopaths, and as relying upon votes from individuals who are ignoramuses and/or idiots — I’ll never again support the national Democratic Party. I haven’t been, and will not be, a Republican (and anyone who is, after Bush’s 2003 invasion of Iraq, is beneath even basic decency), but if Hillary becomes the Party’s nominee, then the Democratic Party is just as rotten, from its top on down, as the Republican Party is — and, with Hillary as its Presidential nominee, anyone who would be denying the fact of its rottenness, under such a circumstance, would necessarily be either ignorant, stupid, or psychopathic. That’s an undeniable scientific fact about the Party, if it runs a person such as that, as its Presidential nominee.

ZERO HEDGE
ECONOMICS

Following Japan's record low PMI, Europe's modest pick-up, and China's bounce, this week's Philly Fed crash was more indicative as US Manufacturing (flash) PMI printed 50.8 (from 51.5 in March and notably missing 52.0 expectations). T If Obama was seeking to infuriate even more people, or to push the odds of Brexit even higher with the Op-Ed he posted yesterday ahead of his London visit, he may have succeeded. Responding to President Obama's "Just Say No" to Brexit Op-Ed, the Mayor of London - Tory big-hitter Boris Johnson - bites back at the "part-Kenyan's ancestral dislike of the British Empire", exclaiming that America would never surrender so much power to Brussels -"It is incoherent. It is inconsistent, and yes it is downright hypocritical." Conjuring Churchillian patriotism, the controversial comments from the outspoken Brit conclude, the benefits of Brexit mean "we can thrive as never before – and therefore be even better and more valuable allies of the United States." his is the lowest print since September 2009 with New Orders sliding (weakest since Dec 2015), and Employment at its weakest since June 2013. As Markit notes, "US factories reported their worst month for just over six-and-a-half years in April, dashing hopes that first quarter weakness will prove temporary."
..
Not pretty - but probably transitory, right?

Hmm, but everyone says the labor market is great?
..

Commenting on the flash PMI data, Chris Williamson, chief economist at Markit said:
“US factories reported their worst month for just over six-and-a-half years in April, dashing hopes that first quarter weakness will prove temporary.

Survey measures of output and order book backlogs are down to their lowest since the height of the global financial crisis, prompting employers to cut back on their hiring.

“The survey data are broadly consistent with manufacturing output falling at an annualized rate of over 2% at the start of the second quarter, and factory employment dropping at a rate of 10,000 jobs per month.

“With prior months’ survey data pointing to annualized GDP growth of just 0.7% in the first quarter, the deteriorating performance of manufacturing suggests that growth could weaken closer towards stagnation in the second quarter.

“The survey responses reveal an increase in business uncertainty in relation to both the economic and political outlook during the month, which is weighing on spending and investment decisions and exacerbating already-weak demand both at home and abroad.”
But apart from that, everything is awesome - it must be, because stocks are within reach of all-time highs?

There must be some dark corner of Hell warming up for modern, mainstream economists. They helped bring on the worst bubble ever... with their theories of efficient markets and modern portfolio management. They failed to see it for what it was. Then, when trouble came, they made it worse. But instead of atoning in a dank cell, these same economists strut onto the stage to congratulate themselves.

"The market is moving so quickly, yesterday felt just like the stock market in June last year before the crash," warns one Asian trader reflecting on the chaotic rush of Chinese speculators into the industrial metals commodities market Echoing the frenzy that fueled China's parabolic stock market rise (and subsequent collapse), Bloomberg notes one local China broker admits "we’ve seen a lot of people opening accounts for commodities futures recently," adding rather ominously, "the great ball of China money is moving away from bonds and stocks to commodities." The spikes in everything from rebar to iron ore, however, according to Goldman "is not driven by a sustainable shift in fundamentals."

What this looks like!!

We leave it to Tiger Shi, a managing partner at Bands Financial Ltd in Hong Kong to conclude:
“The market is moving so quickly, yesterday felt just like the stock market in June last year before the crash... I think how it goes up, that’s how it will come down."

Trade accordingly.

Shares of Lithium companies have surged after Tesla boosted its outlook for electric vehicles powered by batteries that use the element, sending the Solactive Global Lithium Index up by about a third since the middle of February. And it does not look set to slowdown, as OilPrice.com's James Stafford notes, the unveiling of Tesla’s Model 3 electric car was no less than the lifting of the final curtain on a game-changing energy revolution. And if we follow that revolution to its core, we arrive at lithium - our new gasoline for which the feeding frenzy has only just begun.

A central tenet in the thesis by analysts about the oil markets rebalancing has been that as prices declined, oil companies would be forced into bankruptcy. That in turn would lead to declining production, and eventually a rebalancing of supply and demand in the market, followed by higher prices. That process is already taking longer than many expected, and it looks like more time is needed. That additional time to balance the market is being driven by an unexpected factor; bankrupt oil companies are still pumping.

The gold/silver ratio recently took out 2009 highs and the gold/copper ratio is at its highest level since 2009. This is a negative signal that US inflation, using CPI, could be headed for another leg lower. Since 2008, the gold/silver ratio has had a -73% correlation to the year-over-year change in US CPI (with a 2-quarter forward lag for the gold/silver ratio) . So as the gold/silver ratio increases, the year-over-year change in the CPI tends to fall.

IS HILLARY CLINTON THE DEMOCRATS' RICHARD NIXON?  Submitted by Tyler Durden on 04/21/2016
Authored by Eric Zuesse,
Richard Nixon’s similarities to Hillary Clinton are remarkable:
:
1: Both were highly successful politicians who had exceptionally negative net-approval ratings from the U.S. public,
2: Both were unsuccessful in their first run for the Presidency,
3: Both were highly distrusted, except by the voters within their own Party.
4: Both went into their Presidential campaign years) as being “the candidate with experience.”
5: Both were war-hawks and proponents of a big military, but were also liberals on social policies and regulatory policies
6: Whereas Nixon,  lied that he had ‘a secret plan to end the Vietnam war' Hillary Clinton, lied by saying that she has a plan to end the war in Russia-allied Syria. [So,  both are liars.] .
7: Both Richard Nixon and Hillary Clinton were/are famous for being secretive, and for distrusting everyone except his/her proven-loyal personal entourage
9: Both of them had/have established records backing coups abroad, in order to impose the will of America’s President, no matter how bloody

As the Richmond Times Dispatch reports, Governor Terry McAuliffe today signed an order to restore voting rights to more than 200,000 convicted felons in Virginia. The order applies to nonviolent and violent felons, and according to a confidential draft of research for the order obtained by the Richmond Times Dispatch, is authorized under the Constitution of Virginia. Why this surprising announcement now? As Reuters says, the "move that could help the Democratic nominee in November's presidential election."

WASHINGTON BLOG

Posted on April 22, 2016 by WashingtonsBlog . By Michael Snyder, the Economic Collapse Blog

If you had to make a sudden visit to the emergency room, would you have enough money to pay for it without selling something or borrowing the funds from somewhere?  Most Americans may not realize this, but this is something that the Federal Reserve has actually been tracking for several years now.  And according to the Fed, an astounding 47 percent of all Americans could not come up with $400 to pay for an emergency room visit without borrowing it or selling something.  Various surveys that I have talked about in the past have found that more than 60 percent of all Americans are living to paycheck to paycheck, but I didn’t realize that things were quite this bad for about half the country.  If you can’t even come up with $400 for an unexpected emergency room visit, then you are just surviving from month to month by the skin of your teeth.  Unfortunately, about half of us are currently in that situation.   Keep Reading
