“We were seeing an
alarming number of voter affiliations changed without people’s knowledge or
consent, people who were registered listed as not
registered,” said Shyla Nelson, a spokeswoman for Election Justice USA.
As the primary neared
and the group solicited accounts of irregularities, reports poured in, she
said: “WHAT STARTED AS A TRICKLE IS NOW A RIVER.”
More than 200 voters
signed initially onto the lawsuit, Nelson said on Friday (she was still
tallying late additions this afternoon as lawyers pushed up against the
close-of-court deadline).
WHAT THE LAWSUIT
CALLS “PURGES,” its authors argue, disproportionately affect Hispanic, African-American, and
Hispanic voters, as have previous electoral manipulations in the state’s
history. The legal filing, which shows signs of being assembled in extreme
haste, also cites the just-reported decline of
registered Democrats IN BROOKLYN BY 63,500,
VOTERS IT ALSO CALLS “PURGED.”
“How can the U.S. actually tell its citizens their right to
vote has been lost in the mail?” one female person wrote in a Facebook
post. She said she found it even more “shocking” when several friends reached
out to say that they were having similar problems. A call to the state BOE left
her unsatisfied.“What I’m waiting to hear is someone to
take responsibility, to say that I did everything correctly and I’m
still not a registered voter,” she said. “I have a U.S. passport, a driver’s
license, a Global Entry photo ID, and an NYPD press pass—I am who I say I am. I
just want to vote.”

long, long time.

Reason #1: No Inflation
Before the Federal Reserve lifts interest rates further,
it needs to see clear signs that inflation will hit its 2% target. However,
cheap energy and falling commodity prices have kept inflation extremely low,
and that isn't going to change anytime soon.

The Fed will wait for “further improvement in labor
market conditions and a return to 2 percent inflation” to go further with
interest rates.

Reason #2: No Economic Recovery

Reason #3: No Wage Growth
A big reason for the wage stagnation is the dramatic
increase in employer-sponsored healthcare costs-while total compensation is
rising, the take-home paychecks are not.
Another round of QE is more likely
All of this will likely deter the Fed from raising rates any
further.
I believe we're much more likely to see another round of
Quantitative Easing before we see a rate hike. John Williams of the San
Francisco Fed hinted at this when he said the Fed could “clearly” lower rates
again if needed, and use other tools “if necessary.”

Following API's 3.1mm reported build overnight, expectations
were for a 3mm build and DOE reported a 2.08mm build. Cushing saw a 235k draw
from API and was expected to drop 1mm barrels but DOE reported just 248k drop
in inventories as Gasoline inventories drewdown just 110k barrels (drastically
less than the 1mm exp) and Distillates saw a large 3.55mm draw - the most in 3
months. Production appears more of a focus for now and fell once again last
week to 8.953mm barrels (down 4.41% YoY) - lowest since Oct 2014. Crude
prices had slipped overnight as Kuwait's strike ended and Russia threatened to
increase supply but the production slowdown and lower than expected inventory
data sent WTI back above $42.
