NOV 6 15 SIT EC y POL

NOV 6 15 SIT EC y POL

Michael Hudson  NOTE:  “The one area I most need help is in proof-reading and basic copy editing.”  “Sadly, my long time voluntary editor Keith Wilde passed away recently. I would like to develop a new team for a series of books I have planned in the coming months and years.  Could you send a short email to copyeditor@michael-hudson.com with a link to any relevant online work? Reminder, this is a voluntary role only.”  http://michael-hudson.com/2015/11/hudson-editorial-team/

My name is Hugo Adan and I need proof-reading and basic copy editing too. I already contact one Co that can donate the pay of a part-time done-job  either in Pittsburgh PA or via e-mail. The applicant to this job has to be a person fluent in both languages, English & Spanish (the publication will be in 2 languages). Besides, the applicant has to be familiar with basic terminology in economics, political science & sociology (and also familiar with Google or other translator.. they provide a very weak approximation to intended meanings ).

I will publish a small part of a chapter of this book in my web www.nd-hugoadan.blogspot.com  ;  also  in www.indymedia.org  from NY & Argentina and possibly in www.Rebelion.org  (same art title with different names) in Nov 27.  It will be a row copy without proof reading, (the way it appears in my web’ daily report)  so the person interested in this work will know what this job is about. To tell you the truth, I’m a socialist and it will be a plus if the applicant is close to this approach.

The minimum salary expected is $20 per hour & 4 hours per day. If the applicant can work only during weekends, it should let be noticed.  For those who submit the “proof reading” there will be a tip, not matter if they win or not the work. The article will be submitted the day 27 of Nov, and the proof reading is expected the day 28, via e-mail. In Nov 30 we will know the winner & everybody will receive its tip upon address provided. Please submit a letter of your desire to participate in this job, with emphasis on your experience. Send e-mail the day 26 or 27 before noon, to: hueo@pitt.edu .

ZERO HEDGE

These Are The 20 Worst Cities In The US - Spot The Common Theme Submitted by Tyler Durden on 11/06/2015 [ Interesting article. MUST READ ]

While there is much variety among the 20 best small cities in the U.S., the list of the 20 worst ones has one recurring theme... www.zerohedge.com

[ Todo depende del criterio que se use para el ranking. Aquí se han considerado 4 variables para elaborar el index: 1- AFFORDABILITY – Total Points: 25, incluye 3 indicadores. 2- ECONOMIC HEALTH – Total Points: 25, incluye 5 indicadores. 3- EDUCATION & HEALTH – Total Points: 25, con 4 indicadores. 4 QUALITY OF LIFE – Total Points: 25 con 10 indicadores.

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, IN THE WORST CITIES NO SE DETALLA  EL CRITERIO A USARSE NI LAS VARIABLES E INDICADORES.

english version:

En mi articulo anterior indicaba que IN THE WORST CITIES NO SE DETALLA  EL CRITERIO A USARSE NI LAS VARIABLES E INDICADORES.  See my comments to the article These Are The 20 Worst Cities In The US - Spot The Common Theme  in http://nd-hugoadan.blogspot.com/2015/11/nov-6-15-sit-ec-y-pol.html . Leamos parte de este comentario:

“All dependes on the criteria used for the ranking. To list the best cities in the US four variables were considered:  1- AFFORDABILITY – Total Points: 25, incluye 3 indicadores. 2- ECONOMIC HEALTH – Total Points: 25, incluye 5 indicadores. 3- EDUCATION & HEALTH – Total Points: 25, con 4 indicadores. 4 QUALITY OF LIFE – Total Points: 25 con 10 indicadores.

“ If we compare the two table in this article ( the list of best cities vs. bad cities) we see that the same variables were applied to both of them. Such criteria is methodologically incorrect and it invalidate the analysis. Why? Because in “the worse cities” are excluded variables like  pollution  (ozone in big cities,  with toxic industries and big amount of diesel cars in streets). It does not include also the degradation of wáter for direct home consume (tab wáter) given the fact that rivers, lakes and ground wáter have been infested either by garbage deposited on them and by the industry of oil-gas (its fracking perforations)  and mineral exploration that infest those rivers, lakes and ground water. (A recent news said that there is a lake close a city in the US in which there is a salmon-farm business;   and that a Medical report said that such water is heavily contaminated and suggested not to eat that salmon more than one time a month. Of course the town is aware of it and avoid such consume, but the business continue and this fish is sell to other cities in the US).  Similar situation happens in big cities whose dump-water is contaminates by chemicals and heavy metals like the ones in the  silicon Valley. There are also cities exposed to emissions of plutonium y derivate of nuclear waste. None of these variable have been considered in the listing of bad cities.
..
Besides the variable pollution y nuclear dangers, there are sociological variables like demographic  density in cities, poverty rate, unemployment and level of criminality, etc non considered. Apply to worse cities the four variables  designed to promote turism-industry invalidate this study, at least the part related to worse cities is flaw. To study opposite  topics with the same variables was the error ]. ===

"Social Security as a whole as well as Medicare cannot sustain projected long-run program costs...", and that the government should be "giving the public adequate time to prepare."

We know that 271K jobs were added in October; we also know that workers 55 and over got a whopping 378,000 of the jobs (this was the biggest montly gain for this age group since January 2012, a month when total job gains were 380K, the third highest since the crisis), while males aged 25-54 lost 119,000 jobs. But who was hiring in October?
The answer:
Below is the breakdown of select industries which, according to the BLS, were most active in October hiring. The breakdown:
  • Education and Health: +57K
  • Professional Services: +54K
  • Retail Trade: +44K
  • Leisure and Hospitality: +41K
  • Temp Help: +25K
And Manufacturing workers: +0

Although NYMEX prices are about $46 per barrel, realized wellhead prices in the Bakken are only $30 per barrel according to the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources. At that price, only approximately 125,000 acres of the drilled play area of 10,500,000 acres is commercial.

The US Dollar Index is soaring (hitting its highest since early April and approaching 2015 highs) as the probability of a December rate hike hits 74%. This is not unequivocally good for a large number of American firms..

[ Remember this 74% rate hike.. it means that the cost of debt in emerging markers will be 74% high ]

----

In another sign that the labor market slack, at least from the Fed's perspective, is now reaching a peak, the Household survey reported that while the civilian labor force rose by over 300K in October, the number of people not in the labor force actually declined by 97K to 94.5MM (as those employed rose by 320K), following a surge of over half a million in September. Despite this headline improvement, however, the participation rate remained at 62.4%, same as the prior month, and at a level last seen in 1977.
..
Finally, while there are many explanations why the participation rate remains so low (and continues to decline) most notably from the Fed who said that people "just don't want a job", the reality is that 94.5 million Americans either no longer have an interest or desire to look for a job.
..
Labor Participation rate defined :  1.The participation rate refers to the number of people who are either employed or are actively looking for work. www.investopedia.com/terms/p/participationrate.asp
2. The labor force participation rate is the percentage of working-age ... Typically "working-age persons" is defined as people between the ages of 16-64. This is the meaning used by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. www.economics.about.com/od/unemploymentrate/f/labor_force.htm

"Everything is awesome." The Fed got just what it wanted... surge in jobs and a surge in wages - which has sent December rate hike odds from 56% to 74%. This appears to be a problem for everything else. The dollar has soared (EURUSD almost a 1.06 handle), Bond yields have exploded (though the long-end is notably outperforming), stock prices plunged, and commodities across the board are getting hammered.

[ It is not sarcasm .. is real .. job market is closing. The free market economy is out of control .. what is next?.. I hope not yet the worse .. [HERE SOME DATA ON SLOWING GROWTH IN US EMPLOYMENT ]

While it may not be "the most important jobs number ever" (that will likely be next month's which comes just days ahead of the all-important December FOMC decision), today's payrolls number will either reject the recent trend of slowing growth in US employment (the first 9 months of 2015 have averaged 198K jobs, 17% lower than the 238K average for the comparable 2014 period), or validate it which in turn is presenting a new, major headache for the Fed which has to convince the public that the right time to hike rates is just as job growth is slowing down as Bullard told Reuters overnight.
