IN Peter Oliver on G7 : “Global Leaders meet at G7 in
Germany” we found this transcript:
The two-day G7 summit has kicked off in Bavaria as its
leaders gathered to discuss hot-button issues such as Ukrainian crisis, with
some voicing support for tougher Russia sanctions despite the economic
difficulties they bring to the EU.
“All of us would prefer to have Russia around the G7 table,” European Council President Donald Tusk said at a luxury
Bavarian hotel in Schloss Elmau. “But our group is not only a group [that
shares] political or economic interests, but first of all this is a community
of values. And that is why Russia is not among us here today.”
He also backed tougher sanctions against Russia, hoping that
it would be put in place at the end of this month at a meeting of EU leaders in
Brussels.
"If anyone wants to start a discussion about changing the
sanctions regime, it could only be about strengthening it,"
Tusk said.
Tusk was joined by British Prime Minister David Cameron, who
urged EU leaders to stay united on upholding Russia sanctions despite the pain
they cause to the bloc.
"[Sanctions have] an impact on all countries in terms of putting sanctions on another country. [But] Britain hasn't let our preeminence in financial services get in the way of taking a robust response to Russian-backed aggression and I don't think other countries should either," Cameron said.
"[Sanctions have] an impact on all countries in terms of putting sanctions on another country. [But] Britain hasn't let our preeminence in financial services get in the way of taking a robust response to Russian-backed aggression and I don't think other countries should either," Cameron said.
At the summit, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and US
President Barack Obama held a tet-a-tet meeting before discussing how much they
had enjoyed an al fresco Bavarian meal.
Following the talks the White House issued a statement saying the leaders agreed that
the “duration of sanctions should be clearly linked to Russia’s full
implementation of the Minsk agreements and respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty.”
Investigative journalist Tony Gosling told RT that it seems
Western politicians are being driven by the US into rhetoric about uniting
against Russia.
“This is our old Cold War talk, that is really driven by the
Americans, and it certainly does not represent the views of European people or
business, which is a bit worrying,” he said.
Among other issues dominating the G7 talks in Bavaria is the
Greek debt crisis. European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has said
that a Greek exit from the euro currency is not an option, but cautioned Greek
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras against distorting proposals by international
creditors for a cash-for-reform deal to save Athens from default. The two-day
summit is also expected to focus on tackling terrorism and global warming.
‘Sanctions only benefit elite
corporate interests’
The real reason the G7 is considering toughening sanctions
on Russia may have little to do with the current crisis in Ukraine. Political
commentator Caleb Maupin thinks Russia’s emergence as a major player in the
international oil and gas markets has prompted big corporations and major
financial interests to push politicians to exclude Russia from this year’s
summit and ratchet up the pressure.
“It’s a threat to the global hegemony of the big bankers on
Wall Street and in London, and they very much want to keep control of the
global markets,” Maupin said in an interview
with RT. “I don’t think the reason Russia was excluded [from the summit] has
anything to do with Ukraine, I think it’s about continuing to put pressure on
Russia, continuing to isolate Russia,” he added.

School Arms Its Teachers As Defense Against Violent Criminals. Submitted by Tyler
Durden on 06/09/2015
In the aftermath of
the 2012 Shady Hook elementary school shooting, the Obama administration did
everything in its power to impose even further Second Amendment limitations on
general principles. It failed. Instead, what has happened over the past
year is a documented series of lethal (and in many cases brutal) gun violence
by those tasked to uphold and preserve the law, and who have been specifically
instructed how to use weapons: the US police force.
And in a world in
which violence is constantly on the rise yet the police can not be relied on to
"protect and to defend", one Idaho school has decided to take matters
into its own hands.
According to the
Guardian, the small Garden Valley School district in Idaho has purchased
firearms and trained a handful of staff to use them should the same school
shooting rampage that has occurred across the country take place.
Hugo Adan:

Nuclear Bombers Grounded After Plane Skids off Runway, Injures Crew. Submitted by Tyler
Durden on 06/09/2015
A Russian Tu-95
has overshot the runway after taking off in Russia’s Far East, resulting in
injuries to several crewmembers. The four-engine Tu-95 (NATO codename Bear)
is a long-range strategic bomber capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
As RT
reports, the accident has prompted the Russian Defense Ministry to temporarily
freeze all flights carried out by the aircraft.
"The accident occurred during a practice flight at the Ukrainka
airfield in the Amur region at 17:00 Moscow time,” said the Russian Defense
Ministry. “The Tu-95 overran the runway during acceleration. There was no
ammunition onboard. According to preliminary information, a fire in the
engine was the cause behind the accident.”
“While leaving the aircraft,
several crew members received injuries of various severity and were
hospitalized,” the Ministry
representative added, who mentioned it was about to take-off on a practice
flight.
A special commission from the Air Force command arrived at the scene to
investigate the incident. Under the Air Force commander-in-chief’s decree,
Russia’s whole fleet of Tu-95s will remain grounded until the investigation is
complete, a press release from the Defense Ministry stated.
And no wonder the
country's social media erupted in World War 3 panic fears.

Extend Illegal NSA Surveillance. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/09/2015
Just when we thought
the absurdity that marks every single day of Obama's reign could not possibly
be surpassed, we learned that 4 hours (3 hours and 47 minutes to be precise)
after the US president vowed to sign a new law banning bulk data collection by
the NSA (named, for purely grotesque reasons, the "USA Freedom Act"),
the Obama administration asked the secret Fisa surveillance court to ignore
a federal court that found bulk surveillance illegal and to once again grant
the National Security Agency the power to collect the phone records of millions
of Americans for six months.

Americans are already dispossessed of their livelihoods

Wherever the West has an imprint, the populations are exploited. Exploitation

Colleges students who can prove they were victims of fraud. The potential
cost to taxpayers: nearly $4 billion. With the precedent thus set, the
question now is whether continued pressure on for-profit colleges will result
in further closures and more petitions from hundreds of thousands of students
with hundreds of billions of loans they now know can be legally discharged.

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/09/2015
Wishing it was true doesn't make it true--it
makes you a chump who fell for the con.
…
Once upon a time in America, no adult could survive
without possessing a finely tuned BS detector. Herman Melville masterfully captured America's fascination with cons and
con artists in his 1857 classic The Confidence-Man, which I discussed in The Con
in Confidence (October 4, 2006).
An essential component of the American ethos is: don't be
a chump. Don't fall for the con. And if you do, it's your own fault. The Wild West wasn't just thieves shooting
people in the back (your classic "gunfight" in the real West)--it was
a simmering stew of con artists, flim-flammers and grifters exploiting the
naive, the trusting and the credulous.
We now inhabit a world where virtually everything is a
con.

The
Noose Around Syria's Assad Tightens, Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/09/2015
While Obama is
currently under fire for stating at the recently concluded G-7 summit in
Germany that the US "does
not yet have a complete strategy" how to deal with ISIS, the
reality as relates to the true US strategy, namely the ouster of Syria's
president al Assad, could not be more different. Because while ISIS continues to
deflect attention from what is really happening in the middle east, the noose
around Syria's Assad is tightening one day at a time, with the latest blow
coming overnight after Syrian "rebels", also supported by the US (and
allowed
to call in B-1B strikes), scored a major military victory capturing the
second biggest Syrian army base in the south of the country, located in the
city of Deraa near the border with Jordan, and just 100 km south of Damascus.

the report from the NEB does indeed point to a very large pool of potential
shale oil, getting it out of the ground will be no small feat, especially at
today's prices.

This central bank fueled boom will ultimately be
paid for in the form of a prolonged deflationary contraction. Then, trillions of uneconomic assets will be
written off, industrial sector profits will collapse and the great inflation of
financial assets over the last 27 years will meet its day of reckoning. On
the morning after, of course, it will be asked why the central banks were
permitted to engineer this fantastic financial and economic bubble. The
short answer is that it was done so that monetary central planners
could smooth and optimize the business cycle and save world capitalism
from its purported tendency toward instability, underperformance and
depressionary collapse.

"Getting

Assault. Submitted by Tyler
Durden on 06/09/2015 THIS IS NOT MY AMERIKKKA
After
the clip of white cops rampaging through an affluent Texas neighborhood teenage
pool party went viral, the outcry at the actions of the police officers is
growing louder as, it appears, AmeriKKKa (as one protester's banner
exclaims) is waking up to what can be done. As
Reuters reports, hundreds marched through the Dallas-area city of
McKinney on Monday calling for the firing of the police officer seen in a video
throwing a bikini-clad teenage girl to the ground and pointing his pistol at
other youths. Corporal Eric Casebolt, who is white, has been placed on
administrative leave pending an investigation of how he responded to the
disturbance on Friday which has raised fresh questions about racial bias in
U.S. policing. "Him getting fired isn’t enough," said one
protester, adding at that "he should be charged with assault."

drug money laundering bank HSBC unleashed the "machete" and
announced it would cut almost 50,000 workers, or one in five bankers, a move
which would shrink the investment bank division by one-third. The reason: the
same why US corporations are laying off tens of thousands so they can fund
record stock buybacks and enrich their shareholders - to boost profits so that
more money can be channeled in the form of dividends.
