PEACE VS. WAR: LOGIC-DIALECTICAL APPROACHES [Part 2]

3- THE 1ST LAW OF LOGIC AND DIALECTIC.
a- The laws of identity and difference, among individuals, groups and nations.
The law of identity (symbolically A=A), is the old Aristotelian parameter that has been demolished by German
philosophers (Kant & Hegel). It excludes contradiction (A cannot be A and
no -A at the same time) and it also excludes the middle or a 3rd
choice (A is either A and no –A, there is not middle alternative, the 3rd
option is excluded). Meaning of identity: individual & State nations forge stable
& strong personality over time (motionless societies), to be defended at
whatever cost (sovereignty, territorial integrity, flags & national anthems
are main features of State-Nation identity). The
fact is that identity is a relative category and change is the absolute one.
A single personality of individuals and the
one of State-Nation can be built and last only until new developments comes up.
Contradictions inside any stage of development always exist and a 3rd
choice, if excluded by low or illegal practices, opens up its way either by
peacefull means or via Revolut, so the 3rd choice always carries
inside the gens of change toward a new system.
Current dilemma of Kiev: they can either try to eliminate the 3rd option as
it happens during Hitler and Stalin regimes,
to finally been defeated or surrender . OR, the 3rd option
can be integrated inside the whole
system, with the degrees of autonomy that international Laws grant to them
(right to self-determination).
Regarding “National sovereignty
& Nat integrity”, that is a
nasty lie in times of neoliberal freedoms and plunder from transnational speculators. Territorial
integrity is being demolished everyday by the ruling empire in the name of
regime change. Flags & national anthems does not create any identity in the
time of globalization & its waves of migration.
To Hegel, the formula
A=A was and it is
an empty tautology, without content and conducive nowhere. Personality of
individuals and State-Nations evolve and
change permanently. To say: no soy del montón, soy la excepción.. is to say: “solo yo existo” & I don’t
care for the rest. That is pure naïve and ridiculous solipsism. We are social
beings by nature and we are part of a world system that belongs to all. If one
part of the system try to submit others based on its military might, the others
will be armed too & sabotage and destroy the empire. It happens in history &
it will happen again.
Both, Identity and difference co-exist at the same time,
like two sides of the same coin, if we put it in simple words. If the coin
shows up the same face every time you flipped (elections time, for instance) that
only means the coin is fraud, obsolete or has not value.. this is exactly what
happens with the bipartisan system in the US. Apparently, both sides of a coin never go hand on hand –
but in real time it happens. It happens when the coin is being fliped and is in
the air, out of individual hands (those who buy elections). Once the coin comes
to the floor, the illusion of “one single dominant identity” disappear.
In short, in modern science the parameters of formal logic
are obsolete. They are obsolete since the time of Darwin who showed that
through evolution it was possible for one species to be transformed into another
species. Consequently, any rigid system of classification of people and
State-Nations had to be changed to allow for new ways of including the excluded
and to allow new understanding of the drastic changes of reality.
More briefly: not only A exist, B,C, D..X do exist too, and all of them are necessary
for the totality to exist. More even: when we talk about lowering to a
certain degree the temperature of a freezer we see that the water put it inside
a container first became pulpy and suddenly changed into ice, this leap talk
about the law quantity into quality, a change that we can see in nature and
society in many ways. This is dialectics in Hegel language. Change or evolution
does not take place only gradually in a straight smooth line, it admit sudden
breaks or revolution in society. Evolutions certainly undermine the old order,
until come sudden overturns that change the whole system. When we talk this way
we are talking dialectics, the law of sudden overturns of quantity into quality
(and vice versa).
When we talk about the unity of opposites (identity and
difference) we are talking dialectics. When we discover paradoxes in
society and nature, when the two poles of a contradictory antithesis manage to
co-exist inside of a whole or system, we are dealing with dialectics. The unity
of Opposites and its contradiction are the essence of dialectics said Hegel and
then Lenin.
When we talk about “the negation of the negation”,
that is, when we see and explains the repetition at a higher level of certain
features and properties of the lower level and the apparent return of past
features. There we are talking about the constant struggle between form and
content, resulting in the eventual shattering of the old form and the radical
change of the content. That is another form of dialectical change.
b- Identity last only brief periods of time, being
relative is its main feature. The absolute is change and development. But, when
identity is on, when everybody share the same aim and the will to achieved the
same objective, the change it causes is so deep
that can last long periods of time. This is type of change can affect the course of history for
long period of time. This is happening now, in this time of radical reforms and
revolutions. It could happens in Greece today and it could happens easily in Ukraine
if the South manage to control this transitional period in the right way.
c- The transition from reforms to Rev is what is at stake now
in Ukraine (the main objective was set
in points 1-2 and 3: the dismantle of all nuclear arms, as the only warrantee
of durable peace). Designing the systemic changes to achieve that
objective is the next step. When reforms are not enough, then changing the whole system will be the law.
People should be prepare for this dynamic. We should accept from the very
beginning that permanent contradictions are normal during processes of change.
We should always be ready to solve internal
contradictions and accept that one side will prevails –perhaps the wrong one- but
never ever accept that the third option be excluded anymore. Let proportional
representation be the rule of the game even if our proposal don’t prevail, if
happens it will be not because the majority decided so, but because we didn’t
elaborate our reason with sufficient coherence to be accepted by the most. Let’s
give the last chance to the old law of identity to survive, but be ready to
respond massively if they try to exclude the 3rd option. Eventually
-soon than later- the 3rd option will be the dominant
one.
d- The third option can prevail only if it is designed to
change the value of the coin. The objective is to change the system, not
part of it, persons or allocation of resources, is the whole system that has to
be changed, that is adding new content to the coin. It happens at the moment
when the coin is in the air (either in election time or during mass rebellion).
At this moment the color of the sides –at least one of them- can be changed.
When the flip is over and the coin rest on the floor, one side will prevail. If
its identity contradict the time, and the will of the people, the mass rebellion
should be ready to force (via referendum or recalling elections) a new flipping
of the coin. Once it settled down on the floor, a new color (the third option)
will come and the change of content will
start. The coin value won’t be a cent anymore, it will be a dime, a quarter or
more. That is the meaning of revolutionary
periods. We should be prepared for these courses of action.
