IMF reaches $17.5bn deal with Ukraine. The IMF says it has agreed to provide Ukraine with an additional bailout package of $17.5 billion. [According to BBC what Greece owes is 323 Bll euros. 60% to Eurozone, 10% to IMF, 6% to European Central banks, 3% to Greek Banks & 15% in Bonds. IMF is offering not even half of the debt to them. This means that Greece is not going to see one single penny from the IMF since that use to charge 1st what is owed plus interests. Meaning: more austerity with IMF. If the IMF condones the 10% to zero debt, then the pack of $17.5bn is a tiny help. The IMF offer is an insult to the new Government]. See graphic http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-31432471

Ukraine gets financial lifeline in return for ‘very difficult’ economic reforms. The International Monetary Fund is set to loan Ukraine 15.5 billion euros. IMF chief Christine Lagarde said it is part of 35 billion euros in international emergency funding to stop the ex-Soviet republic going bankrupt after a year of political upheaval and war. The fragile ceasefire in the east of the country has to hold for the IMF money and other loans to get final approval and be handed over – even Christine Lagarde admitted that. “The main risk of course relates to the geopolitical developments ..” Lagarde said.  PM Yatseniuk said the IMF aid package presupposes “very difficult” reforms.. added that the Ukrainian economy could grow in 2016 if “Russian aggression” is halted and internal reforms are a success. [FACTS: IMF money given to neo-nazi reformers was used to pay the arms provided by the US-Europe. It is also a fact that Ms. Lagarde is a pawn of FED Banks and big corp associated to the business of war. In “war business “ the IMF money goes back to them. They are simply financing the war against RU. To stop the war the IMF could have said that KIEV will recognize the autonomus Federation of the South  inside Ukraine, as a condition for this money to be released. Instead the IMF said that all depends on “geopolitical developments” and the neo-nazi  Yatseniuk said more clearly that “very difficult” reforms depends on “no- Russian aggression”. Just the argument used before to “use” IMF money for war. The FACT is that KIEV was the aggressor: they violently assaultes democracy in Kiev and ban Russian language in the South. With this clown in power there is not guarantee that any money given to Kiev is used for war .. as it was so far] http://www.euronews.com/2015/02/12/ukraine-gets-financial-lifeline-in-return-for-very-difficult-economic-reforms/

Putin backs troop and heavy weapons withdrawal as part of Ukraine ceasefire  Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the world’s media to present his take on the deal thrashed out in Minsk to bring about a ceasefire in Ukraine. “We have agreed with President Poroshenko of Ukraine that we will give the order, which I am ready to do, to our military to observe what is happening on the frontline,” he said.  [Putin can say that because he has real power in RU.. that is not the case of Poroshenko .. ha has not real power, the Prime Minister  Yatseniuk has more power than him.. because he acts as direct pawn of the US-NATO.. this clown is so ridiculous that repeat everything they said like a “cotorra”.. Porochenko cannot say that he will order the retreat of Kiev army to the limits established in Minsk deal.. he has not authority on an army controlled by the US] http://www.euronews.com/2015/02/12/putin-backs-troop-and-heavy-weapons-withdrawal-as-part-of-ukraine-ceasefire/

Marathon talks produce Ukraine peace deal; cease-fire Sunday
MINSK, Belarus (AP) - The peace deal reached Thursday for Ukraine, if it holds, would be a partial win for both Moscow and Kiev: Ukraine retains the separatist eastern regions and regains control of its border with Russia, while Russia holds strong leverage to keep Ukraine from ever becoming part of NATO. But neither side came away from the marathon talks unscathed. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/fronts/HOME?SITE=AP  [Although the meeting is unfinished.. so far it is a betrayal to Southern people aspirations.. Russia is committed to peace but what about Porochenko? In my opinion … this is just the time for Putin to get out of Minsk and accuse Porochenko and its masters of non-being committed to peace.. there are plenty of evidences on this regard]

ZEROHEDGE
The Terms Of The Ukraine Cease-Fire: Presenting "East Ukraine". Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015 The new cease-fire agreement is based largely on the original one that went into effect Sept. 5. It focuses on the withdrawal of heavy artillery systems, which have been prominent throughout the conflict, within 14 days of the cease-fire's implementation. The new cease-fire requires these artillery systems to be withdrawn far beyond their maximum effective ranges, a move that will create a buffer to prevent escalation and heavy artillery fire on the demarcation line. [Todays state of the art weaponry does not respect  demarcation lines –like the Kiev semi-missile shoot down when entered the air-space of the South two weeks ago, or the artillery to be sent by the US, perhaps drones too- those make obsolete any demarcation line. So, it is needed specification of the type of arms prohibited to be put in the hands of the neo-nazis in Kiev. If not, this will be one more reason for Russia to quit from Minsk (Kiev don't want to recognize autonomy to the Federation of the South, even though they one to be a Fed inside Ukraine, which requires an update in the Constitution) and now they don't want to set limits to the type of weapons bringing by the US. This means that Kiev is accepting to be converted into a Colony of the US and acepting the uses of their high teck weaponry against Russia. That will be considered a declaration of war against Russia. We don’t need another Cuban-missile crisis. We should instead to dismantle the nuke-heads around RU and China, to avoid WW3,  that is what we need to achieve global peace

Is Russia Planning A Gold-Based Currency?. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015. The “perfect-storm” of geopolitical instability, diplomatic isolation, severe currency depreciation, and economic decline now confronting Russia has profoundly damaged Moscow's international standing, and possibly for the long-term. Yet, it is precisely such conditions that may push the country’s leadership into taking the radical step that will secure its world-player status once and for all: the adoption of a gold-exchange standard.

Greek Game Theory: "The Risk Of A Negative Outcome Is Higher Than The Market Thinks". Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015. Our analysis of the payoffs suggest that the EU won’t offer debt relief and Syriza won’t back down from demanding it. Our fear is that the markets, inured by previous bailouts, expect the Greeks to cave, leaving the risk of an unexpected negative outcome in Europe is probably higher than what is currently being discounted. At the same time, EU policymakers are assuming that contagion will not occur, which may not be accurate.

Fourth Turning: The Shadow Of Crisis Has Not Passed - Part 3. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015. There are dark periods of history and they recur on a regular cycle. And we are in the midst of one of those dark periods. This Crisis will not be resolved without much pain, sacrifice, bloodshed, and ultimately war. The American people have lost their ability to think, reason, question, do math, control their urges, defer gratification, or realize when they are being lied to by the people they elected to public office. A culture of ignorance, celebration of the absurd, salutation of stupidity, honoring of the inane, being mesmerized by electronic gadgets, and satiating their egocentric shallow impulses on social media, is a sure recipe for societal collapse.

Central Banks Buy The Second Most Gold In 50 Years: A Look At Who's Buying. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015. Russia had by far the greatest appetite amongst those who raised gold reserves. 3 Things - Uncomfortable Facts, 25-54 Employment, Houston RE. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015. "...I believe that the Fed understands that we are closer to the next economic recession than not. For the Federal Reserve, the worst case scenario is being caught with rates at the 'zero bound' when that occurs. For this reason, while raising rates will likely spark a potential recession and market correction, from the Fed’s perspective this might be the 'lesser of two evils.'

Greek Gambit Succeeds As Germany Said To Ease Bailout Terms. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015. As Merkel noted earlier, "Europe is always about finding a compromise," and it appears they are getting closer  - as long as a 'program' continues. Bundesbank's Weidmann has noted that Grexit would not solve either side's longer-term problems.
----
The Greek Issue Just Got Personal. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015. The contagion from Syriza success can be considerable, and though it pretends otherwise, the EU has no idea what it would mean down the line. Every single option they look at that is NOT Varoufakis surrendering, must scare them out of their socks. Anything they give up will be seen as a sign of weakness, and it will encourage parties for which Syriza ‘carries the torch’, and likely raise their support and votes.

Want To Know Where The Next Bear Market Is? Look Around!. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015. Mr. Market has a habit of correcting things over time. The best thing about capitalism is that everything is temporary. The last time around, people had the stock, could have sold it, and didn’t. Nothing lasts forever.

US Blinks: Kerry Says Prepared To Roll Back Sanctions On Russia. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015. Did Did The US just blink? Perhaps under pressure from Merkel having enough of Obama's "costs", Secretary of State John Kerry just released the following statement... " the United States is prepared to consider rolling back sanctions on Russia when the Minsk agreements of September 2014, and now this agreement, are fully implemented."

ECB'S Noyer Admits Grexit Would Be "Very Painful", Demands Greece "Negotiate Seriously". Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015. This is odd in that markets have been managed to prove Grexit is 'contained'.. Noyer added that the Emergency lending agreement (ELA) is adapted to the needs of the economy, and ironically explained Greece needed to focus on growth (ironic because Greece is expected to grow notably faster that eurozone this year) and debt reduction won't help.

Audit The Fed - And Shackle It, Too. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/12/2015. Needless to say, we can’t have that audit soon enough. In short, what the nation really needs is not an “independent” Fed, but one that is shackled to a narrow and market-driven liquidity function. The rest of its current remit is nothing more than the self-serving aggrandizement of the apparatchiks who run it; and who have now managed to turn the nation’s vital money and capital markets into dangerous, unstable casinos, and the nations savers into indentured servants of a bloated and wasteful banking system.

SPUTNIK
