The housing market finished the decade largely on trend...

The general trend of torrid housing market growth fueled by low interest rates and a tight supply continued largely unchanged during the last quarter of the decade, as most expected it would. Though buyers who have struggled with highly unaffordable home prices in recent years did see a bit of a respite.

To wit, the median home prices in the fourth quarter of 2019 were unaffordable for average wage earners in 344 of 486 - or 71% - of the counties analyzed in the report.

To be sure, some slight progress was made: the figure was down from 73% in the prior quarter, and 75% during Q4 2018.
See Chart:
Q4 2019 US Home affordability heat map

We suspect that the reason so many Americans feel broke and desperate isn't because they are technically below the poverty line, or fear they might soon be there. It's not because they can't afford basic staples like food (though many can't), it's that they're so steeped in debt and squeezed by rising prices on homes, health care etc. (though the Fed can't seem to find a lick of inflation anywhere) that home ownership, the foundation of a healthy financial life, seems out of reach. Millennials who can't afford a down payment miss out on building wealth instead of wasting money on rent. Some studies claim that up to 75% of millennials believe they may never own their own home.

Unless this trend reverses substantially in the coming decade, Americans will be in trouble.

This has nothing to do with REV,  JUST THE OPPOSITE: INVOLUTION
'The party of the working class...'

Trump administration is reviving America's manufacturing base after "a combination of NAFTA and China basically gutted this country," as well as Navarro's predictions for 2020.  [[ FACT: Trump is not reviving nothing.. everything is getting worse ]]

ISSUES DISCUSSED:
1-Manufacturing  From millions cars piled: this Christmas buying is lesser than 2018
2- Disappearing jobs  "We were the most advanced manufacturing county in the world - the workshop for the world - and all the sudden we weren't over a period of 10, 20, 30 years. How did that happen, what were the driving forces, and where did the manufacturing base actually go?"
3- The Trump economy and the 'four points of the economic compass'.
a-Tax cuts:  primarily corporate taxes
b- 'Reaganesque' Deregulation: [cutting] eight regulations out for every ne, and that's a pure Reaganesque, shock because it is deflationary which allows us to grow faster without concern over the Fed.
c- Unleashing the US energy sector. it gives us global competitive advantage.  Bannon adds: Trump's energy policy give us "full-spectrum energy dominance,". [[ where? Germany is getting energy from RU and all EU is in this line. This is just mere wishful thinking]]
d- Fair and balanced trade.  "The idea here is that when you run these big trade deficits," Navarro & Bannon conclude that  "They don't matter. All my betters at Goldman Sachs - they don't matter. Lou Dobbs is a crank. They don't matter!"
[[ IN SHORT: THIS IS A STUPID PAID DEBATE ]]

US-WORLD  ISSUES (Geo Econ, Geo Pol & global Wars)
Global depression is on…China, RU, Iran search for State socialis+K-, D rest in limbo

Gas pipeline politics has always been contentious. One state’s sovereign promise is another’s weakening...
Here only extracts: read the full article at the source in the bottom

The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, construction of which is intended to transport 55 billion cubic metres of Russian gas to Germany per year under the Baltic Sea, is a ragbag of options and promises.
The United States is less concerned with matters green.  Nord Stream 2 poses a security threat.  The Trump administration’s actions against Gazprom and Russia’s energy influence, found in a provision of the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), can hardly be seen as noble endeavours.
Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova spikily condemned the sanctions measure.  “A state with a $22 trillion national debt prohibits creditworthy countries to develop the real sector of their economies!”

For a EU spokesman, this constituted “the imposition of sanctions against EU companies conducting legitimate business.”  A German government spokesman suggested that such actions “affect German and other European businesses, and we see the move as meddling in our internal affairs.”

Nothing is quite so simple.  Gas pipeline politics has always been contentious.  One state’s sovereign promise is another’s weakening.

But the imposition of any sanctions regime signals another bout of economic violence.  In the international market, where governments operate as ready gangsters for corporate interests, prompted by such motivations as seeking more natural resources, tools of state become handmaidens of economic self-interest.  And in all this, the prospect of ecological devastation remains genuine since disagreements contains political interests.

REBELION
