And, as Bloomberg reports, today saw his huge footprint
re-appear as someone snapped
up roughly 130,000 January $22 calls on the index for about 50 cents each.

Bloomberg reports that Volatility Shares LLC has applied to Cboe Global
Markets Inc. to register an exchange-traded fund that would give
investors the ability to short futures on the Cboe Volatility Index,
according to a new
filing.
This is nothing less than a
replacement for the XIV product that created volmageddon in February 2018 as
vol spiked and the short-vol-ETN crashed and died...

SVIX would
track the Short VIX Futures Index, whose backtest suggests a loss of just 30%
on Feb. 5, compared to the 96% retreat in the indicative value of XIV.
However, this all has the
smell of yet another penny-picking trade that will go well... until it doesn't.
After XIV's implosion, Devesh Shah, who helped invent
the VIX index, said he didn’t know why these products existed -- while
predicting that a successor would soon emerge.
“And what’s going to happen as a result of
this?Nothing, other than in a few
months’ time someone’s going to come up with a new XIV, and everyone’s going to
start putting money into that,” he said back in February
2018.
“That’s OK, that’s how the world goes.”
He was right, and simply put, if at first you don't succeed
in blowing up the world
with leveraged short vol bets, try, try again..

Me gusta visitar todas la Iglesias y templos donde reina la majestad del
silencio y de la FE. Es la FE lo que crea dioses y santos
y lo que creo inmensos templos luchando
por conquistar la energía solar. Cuantos murieron en la edificación de templos,

fueron los reales santos de esas iglesias. Admiro la FE de la gente que
va a las iglesias si eso se traduce en una nueva ética y moral para la relación con otros seres humanos y la
relación con la naturaleza o madre tierra. Esta fe que solo en el silencio de
un hogar se practica y que promueve la reconciliación y la paz interna en la
familia, es el eje de una nación orientada a los mismos ideales pacifistas. Unidad familiar y paz es lo que celebramos en una navidad.
También admiro a los budistas y los musulmanes con quien tuve el honor de
compartir techo en mi casa. De los budistas aprendí el control de la mente sobre el cuerpo y de
los musulmanes el rechazo a vicios como el tomar vino. Yo y mi esposa tomamos medio vaso de vino
merlot en las comidas que incluyen carne de cualquier tipo, un médico de la
familia dijo que ese vino adelgaza la sangre que va del corazón al cerebro. Pero mi amigo
musulman prefirió siempre agua o jugo de frutas. Frente a mi casa hubo una
iglesia cristiana que mi esposa nuca visito. Detesta
ella el pasado del cristianismo que destruyo un imperio construido sin guerras
pero si con maestros y médicos
(chamanes) enviados al resto de naciones para difundir los avances logrados a
nivel de ciencia y org social por ellos logrados. En
Cusco, la capital del imperio, hay un museo que muestra instrumentos de las
torturas aplicadas por curas y monjas cristianas contra la nación quechua (que
es donde viene mi familia). La historia de otros países muestra también la
perversidad genocida de la Santa Inquisición desde los tiempos medievales. En Arequipa –ciudad andina donde mis hijos nacieron,
se descubrió un túnel que conectaba el Convento Sta Catalina con la Iglesia San
Francisco, y en ese túnel había cientos de fetos y de
niños asesinados que evidenciaban la barbarie de la pedofilia aun practicada
por muchos monjes y monjas. Eso choco mucho la FE del cristiano del sur
del Peru. Eso explica el rechazo de mi esposa y otros viejos de la familia
contra el cristianismo. Pero no fue un rechazo a la FE
sino a las autoridades religiosas que manipularon esa fe para construir el poder
mundial del Banco Italiano. En el fondo de su alma mi esposa es también
cristiana pero de Teología de la Liberación, una secta católica que se extendió
de Perú al Sur y a Centro América. Aquí las monjas de
Teologia de la Lib fueron asesinadas
durante el Gbno de Carter acusadas
de ser ‘comunistas’. El obispo Romero, también fue
asesinado por ser de Teologia de la Liberacion. Mi esposa es orgullosa
de ser de Teol de la Lib: en las noches reza algunos versículos seleccionados de
la Biblia por ellos. Y me pide que la agarre la mano para intercambiar energía.
Y yo lo hago pero no rezo, aunque algunas veces le leí selecciones del
documento teológico. Pero eso sí: salí a las calles de mi barrio en un
miting portando una vela encendida y gritando “queremos parques no fumones. “We want parks ..no drugs in our Hood”. Mi esposa había
tomado una foto de esa marcha y riendo la mostro a mis hijos y la familia
diciendo “este es el panteísmo” de mi querido esposo. En otra foto estaba yo y
Mutlu, una amiga musulmana que vivía en nuestra casa y que mi esposa no la
quería llevar a ese templo porque ella nunca entraba allí. La familia se rio y
entonces la musulmana Mutlu dijo: “Y rezamos también”. Todos
reímos. Sin duda nuestra FE tiene sus encantos cómicos.
