So stocks opened gap up on
Tuesday and never looked back...Nasdaq was the week's big winner... A
perfect (holiday-shortened) week for stocks with every index up every day this
week... See
graphic..
This week was the biggest short
squeeze in 4 months... See graphic…
Citi's Macro Risk Index has now been below its
neutral level (meaning relatively low risk aversion) for the longest period in
its history starting in 1997. The last time
it measured higher than average risk aversion was November 2016. See graphic…
Despite
all the equity exuberance, the Treasury yield curve hit new cycle lows and
ended flatter on the week... See

The Dollar Index fell for the 4th straight week, closing
at its lowest since September... See graphic…
And don't forget - Tepper and Cohn have now
told you that stocks are not expensive...

There is now an alternative... [ Suicide? ]
See all graphics below here:
For years, equity market
investors have been cajoled into stocks by their commission-rakers with four
simple words - "there is no alternative" -
often shortened to the acronym 'TINA'.
The
argument went that since bonds had such low yields, you were a mug not to buy
stocks with every penny of your retirement funds.
But as of this week, that
argument is no more. TINA is dead...
For the first time since 2008, 2Y US Treasury bond yields are greater than the dividend yield of the
S&P 500... See graphic…
Of course, there is something
to be said for holding bonds, as PIMCO
notes, bonds are different... and a
lot less risky (but then again, with the constant propaganda being spewed by
mainstream business media and White House alike, who
can even remember when stocks were risky?)

The Global Millionaire Population Lies of our Time:
The vast majority of
millionaires (90.0%) globally have fortunes between $1 million and $5 million,
and you’re probably not going to find many of them with a sprawling mansion or
a new Rolls Royce in the garage. In fact, most millionaires drive a Ford...

"The trick of successful
investors is to sell when they want to,
not when they have to..."
Yesterday, as I was researching
the data on the Fed’s balance sheet as it relates to the
future direction of interest rates, I stumbled across an interesting piece of
analysis.
The
chart below shows the deviation of the market from the underlying liquidity
provided by the Fed’s balance sheet.
Currently, this “Brawny
Market” has become the “quicker picker-upper” of market
liquidity. The issue becomes, as discussed yesterday, with the Federal Reserve
beginning to extract liquidity from the markets, along with the ECB tapering
their QE program simultaneously, at what point does liquidity once again become a problem?
For now, however, market
exuberance has completely overtaken investor mentalities. Such is not
surprising as we head into the 9th-year of the current bull market advance. As shown in the chart below, the
current market conditions, while bullish and positive which keeps portfolios
allocated toward risk, are at levels seen only three-times previously.
Such does not mean a “crash”
is coming tomorrow, but it does suggest that
this “Brawny Market” has much more limited upside than what most
investors currently believe.
Remain
long equities for now. But don’t forget that what goes
up, will eventually come down. So it is worth
paying attention to the risk and having a plan of action in place to do with
the eventual reversion when it comes.

----
My comment: Hugo Adan
“Islamic Establishment” is a
cul-de-sac (blind alley, callejon sin salida): EASY to manipulate it by the US,
if they put both Shias & Sunnis in the same sac. Creating hate and
confrontation between Sunis & Shias is what the CIA usually does in the
Eastern region.
THE FACT and 1st point is that in Iran, the
vast majority is Shia and even if Shias open the
sac, it won’t change anything, the Nation will
remain dominantly Shia. (T’ words: “time to change” is
meaningless). The problem is the open mix of politics with religion. In central America we have the same problem: Bishop Romero
was killed for making political statements against the US’ puppet in power.
Priests and Nuns were also killed for the same reason, besides been accused of being communists and involved in
terrorism during the Reagan era. The real terrorists were “the contras”, the
mercenaries armed and financed by the US
via drug trafficking. The US can use the same tactics in Iran against
Shia clerics of top hierarchy. They couldn’t use that
tactic in Cuba and everybody knows that the opposition to Batista regime (the puppet form US) were 90% Christians as Shias are
in Iran now. Nobody cared if Fidel and Che were or not
Christians and when US invaded Cuba the 100% of the Nation supported Fidel
& Che. Imperialism was defeated not because of religion bias but because
anti-imperialism. Latino American celebrate it such victory and the world too. When
the US threat to bomb Cuba, this nation requested the support of Russia and
Nikita Kruchev send nuke missiles to
Cuba. The US never bombed Cuba but imposed an inhumane economic blockade on
this Isla.
The 2nd point here is that mixing politics with
religion don’t have to be open: the opposition to the
“establishment” can be dismantled without using violence from the
“establishment” but creating an anti-imperialist ideology (showing evidences of
US interference inside & the nasty records of crimes committed recently by
the USA worldwide).
The 3rd point is either
re-shuffling the establishment with leaders from the opposition or simply
dismantled the current ‘establishment’ with new Shia leaders that are not
clerics. Perhaps mixing both of them (re-shuffling
plus dismantling) if Iran has to avoid that the
opposition became pro-USA.
The 4th and main point , is the transition toward a real and secular democracy
in Iran. No more killing of Iranian opposition based on
religious bias: Iran has to create a transitional power based on
proportional representation. Give to Sunis & others,
Kurds -if they exist- the real representation in power that they deserve. No
more clerics in Iran politics, no more cul-de-sac for the US to manipulate them.
TOWARD REAL SECULAR DEMOCRACY in IRAN!.
QUE VIVA IRAN! un
pueblo hermano amenazado por el imperio colapsante.
