Fed began to slowly raise rates in late 2016 — after nearly a decade
of near-zero rates — the target rate never returned to even three percent, and thus remains well
below what would have been a more normal rate of the sort seen prior to the
2008 financial crisis.
Much of the Fed's continued reluctance
to upset the easy-money apple cart comes from growing concerns over the
strength of the economy. Although job growth numbers have been high in recent years — and this
has been assumed to be proof of a robust economy — other indicators point toward
less strength. Workforce participation numbers, wage
growth, net worth numbers, auto-loan delinquencies and other indicators suggest
many Americans are in a more precarious position than headlines might suggest.

Every industry yielding that kills fair
remuneration to its workers must be munipalized, nationalized and
cooperativized .. that is the essence of socialism also called
socialization of the means of production. Its privatization creates oppression,
over-exploitation and explosive inequality (it is what we have now). Socialism is its opposite; it is grounded on broad democracy:
it implies that working classes in the cities and rural areas have real & active
administ of the State at local and national level, This implies to go beyond the bureaucratic parasites Dems & Reps
that killed real democracy in America.
We need to restore the need of permanent REFERENDUMS
to dismiss those bureaucrats. That is the only way to assure social rights,
free education and medical services for all. The freedoms of speech, press,
assembly now under attack via fascist
rules and the right to elect (now eliminated by the buying of elections) can
only be warrantied via socialism based on the principle
“From each according to its ability and to all according their work and needs”. That is the principle
of socialism. The other, the individual free competition has been eliminated by
big monopolies & private corp. In fact: neoliberal
capitalism is an assault on individualism. To restore individual
values (not those based on private greed
and ignoring public needs) but those individual values
that go hand on hand with cooperation and fraternity, can only be restored via
socialist democracy. We must organize cells and brigades , take the
streets and fight for Socialism and Peace now.]]
