Paul Warns The "USA Freedom Act" Is Just Another Name For Lost
Liberty.Submitted by Tyler
Durden on 05/04/2015. Fourteen years after the PATRIOT Act was rushed into
law, it is clear that sacrificing liberty does little or nothing to preserve
security. Instead of trying to fool the American people with phony reforms,
Congress should repeal all laws that violate the Fourth Amendment, starting
with the PATRIOT Act.

Says Bet On Yuan As IMF Calls Currency Fairly Valued. Submitted by Tyler
Durden on 05/04/2015. For the first time in more than ten years, the IMF
believes the yuan is close to fairly valued. This comes as the fund considers
the yuan for SDR inclusion later this year and as China attempts to promote the
currency to a more prominent role in the global economy. Meanwhile, Bill
Gates says that although he "loves the dollar" he'd "put his bet
on yuan."

Two-Thirds
Of US Millionaires Fear "They Will Lose It All" If The Market Crashes.
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 05/04/2015. It's not easy being
a millionaire in the New Normal.
No really, because even though over the past 7 years every
single Fed action has catered exclusively to the wealthiest 1% within
polite US society, desperate to make them wealthier in hopes their combined
trilions in net worth will magically "
A voyeristic UBS
study observers that
"Millionaires’ constant striving comes mainly from pressure they feel to
maintain the high standard of living they have established for their families,
whom they value above all else. At the same time, millionaires worry this very
lifestyle may be spoiling their children, causing them to lack motivation and
feel entitled."
And so the Fed is also to blame for a whole generation of
spoiled Millennials. But the punchline: "Millionaires feel stuck on a
treadmill they can’t get off..." The reason:
Though two-thirds of millionaires
say achieving financial security is the
whole point of working to build wealth,
only the very wealthy (those with $5 million or more) feel they have enough to
be secure. Half of millionaires with less than $5 million—and 63% of those
working with children at home—believe that one wrong move, such as a job
loss or market crash, would have a major impact on their lifestyle. For
individuals with at least $5 million, only 34% feel they couldn’t withstand a
setback.

the ADB is reportedly adopting "groundbreaking" measures to ensure it

Endangered
Species: The Self-Employed Middle Class. by
Charles Hugh-Smith of OfTwoMinds blog, Submitted by Tyler
Durden on 05/04/2015. Including the professional class, perhaps only 3%
of the workforce is truly independent.
Being self-employed (i.e. owning your own small business
that does not require employees) is an integral part of the American Dream. Many
start out dreaming of a corner office in Corporate America, but as they move up
the ladder, many become disillusioned by the process and the goal: do I really
want to spend my life making big-shots even wealthier?
Bureaucracies (government and corporate) are safe sources of
employment, but at a cost: they're often soul-deadening. .. Many dream of
making a living doing something they actually care about, and that often means
striking out on your own, i.e. self-employment.
This raises an interesting question: how many
self-employed people in the U.S. actually earn a middle class income? Since
all the government statistics have a line at $50,000, and $50,000 might support
a minimal middle class lifestyle in areas with a low cost of living, let's use
$50,000 in annual income as our minimum.
The number of taxpayers who took the deductible part of
self-employment tax was 18.6 million. This means roughly 5% of the workforce is
self-employed and earns $50,000 or more annually.

"Nor
Any Drop To Drink," Citi Maps The Liquidity Paradox. Submitted by Tyler
Durden on 05/04/2015. "From the BIS to BlackRock, and Jamie Dimon
to Jose Vinals, everyone seems to be talking about market liquidity,"
Citi's Matt King writes, before taking an in-depth look at just how broken the
'markets' truly are. To summarize: no depth in the Treasury market, a duration
mismatched powder keg in "long-term" mutual funds thanks to the fact
that ZIRP has destroyed money market yields causing investors to find a new
'cash substitute,' and a magically shrinking repo market in the wake of new
regulations ironically meant to promote stability.

by Tyler Durden on 05/04/2015 The new age of
Economic Totalitarianism is upon us all. As
we warned previously, Australia will be the first to introduce a compulsory
tax on savings. This is the ultimate Marxist state for now anyone with spare cash

this tax on money in Australia led by Tony Abbott is the trial balloon for
the global economy.

Gross: "This Is All Ending" . THE END IS NEAR!. Submitted by Tyler
Durden on 05/04/2015/ . “When does our credit based financial system
sputter / break down? When investable assets pose too much risk for too
little return. Not immediately, but at the margin, credit and stocks begin to
be exchanged for figurative and sometimes literal money in a mattress.” We
are approaching that point now as bond yields, credit spreads and stock prices
have brought financial wealth forward to the point of exhaustion. A
rational investor must indeed have a sense of an ending, not another Lehman
crash, but a crush of perpetual bull market enthusiasm.

around 7 pm, dozens of people were at a contest hosted by New York-based
American freedom Defense Initiative at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland,
Texas when police said two men pulled up in a vehicle and shot a Garland
Independent School District Security guard in the ankle at about 7 p.m. The men
were then shot and killed by Garland police. While the FBI did not have any
immediate comments or speculation on the reason behind the attac, according to
the Site intel group, overnight it was Islamic State supporters who took
"credit" for the bungled shooting attack.

Does
Turkey Prefer A European Or Eurasian Energy Union?. by
The Jamestown Foundation via OilPrice.com. Submitted by Tyler
Durden on 05/04/2015. Turkey is currently trying to decide which of the two
similar though competing projects - the Eurasian or the European Energy Union -
would be more beneficial for the country. Russia’s attempts to build an ever
closer relationship with Turkey - and the latter’s openness to such gestures -
will complicate regional energy geopolitics further. Thus, Brussels and
Ankara are likely to disagree on strategically important energy security issues
over the coming years unless Turkey and the EU can achieve tighter cooperation
under the framework of the European Energy Union. But if Turkey instead starts
to pursue a more independent policy, particularly one at odds with the European
Union, the Eurasian region will experience ever more unstable and
competitive energy geopolitics.
