ZERO HEDGE  ECONOMICS
Neoliberal globalization is over. Financiers know it, they documented with graphics

"In short, the Deep State and their cronies, who were instrumental in creating the economic, social, and political house of cards that now exists, have the perfect opportunity to bring on the collapse and blame the new president for it."

Soft data rolled over today (as Empired Fed and Homebuilder confidence dropped) but one glance at the following chart shows the "odd one out"...

Oh and then there's the debt ceiling (which has now inverted the front of the Bill curve)...

So to summarize:
  • US Hard data greatly disappoints
  • US Soft data rolls over
  • French election odds narrow further - anyone's game and hedges at EU crisis highs
  • Debt Ceiling looms (and curve inverted)
  • North Korea threatens weekly missile tests guaranteeing provocation
  • US sends 2 more aicrcraft carriers to Korean Peninsula
  • Oil prices tumble
  • Mnuchin says a strong dollar is a bad thing (but machines misinterpret)

And Stocks have their best day in 6 weeks!

The Turkish Lira surged 2% overnight after Erdogan's "successful" referendum, but then started to tumble as OECD and US questioned voiting irregularities...

Finally there's this...

"In honor of the Donald’s “Mother of All Bomb” (MOAB) attack on the Hindu Kush mountains Thursday, let me introduce MOAD. I’m referring to the “Mother of All Debt” crises, of course... The opening round is coming when Washington goes into shutdown mode on April 28, which happens to be Day 100 of the Donald’s reign."

With a tax code that exceeds 72,000 pages in length and consumes more than six billion person hours per year to determine taxpayers’ taxable income, with an IRS that has become a feared law unto itself, and with a government that continues to extract more wealth from every taxpaying American every year, is it any wonder that April 15th is a day of dread in America?

Last week the Internet was ablaze with disgust after a man was physically dragged off a United Airlines flight. What’s amazing, though, is that there are countless cases of another industry abusing its customers in far, far worse ways than the airlines.

I’m talking, of course, about the banking industry.
1.       Banks treat you like criminal suspects too.
2.       Banks nickel and dime you even more.
3.       Overbooking? Try fractional reserve banking
4.       Banks are in bed with the government too.
5.       Yet they brazenly screw their own customers
6.       At least airlines pretend to compete with one another and engage in the occasional ‘fare war’.
Banks actually conspire to screw their customers.
If people are angry about United, they should give serious thought to their financial system.

For the first time since Brexit, the term structure of volatility expectations has inverted and for former 'permabull' Tom Lee, that spells trouble ahead for stocks. Fundstrat's chief strategist remains cautious on equities in the first half of the year, saying volatility measure readings show that the market is sensing near-term “event risk.”

In an FT interview, Mnuchin confirmed Trump's dollar stance, when he said that dollar’s strength in the short term was hurting US exports and the economy. “The president’s comment — which again I agree with — is that over short periods of time the strength of the dollar creates certain issues that hurt our exports. "

President Trump will not be amused. In a letter to employees, Boeing VP John Hamilton announces that the company will lay off "hundreds" of engineers as soon as this week, affecting Washington and "other enterprise locations."

With a same-store sales decline of 1.6%, the first quarter of 2017 was the fifth consecutive quarter of negative results. The last time the industry experienced a similar period was in 2009 and the first half of 2010, as the economy began recovery following the recession. Only this time the move is in the opposite direction.

SELF DILUSION?  or manipulated by manufacturers of WMD .. the big profiteers of war

It appears that if you want to be liked by the American public, go to war. After a non-stop plunge to record low ratings for a new president, Rasmussen's most recent data shows President Trump's favorability surging to 2-month highs since he started rattling sabres around the world.

La seudo democ y sist  duopolico es obsoleto por fraudulento y corrupto. Urge cambiarlo

While auditing the Fed is supported by the vast majority of Americans, it is opposed by powerful members of the financial elite and the deep state. Therefore, those of us seeking to change our national monetary policy must redouble our efforts to force Congress to put America on a path to liberty, peace, and prosperity by auditing, then ending, the Fed.

China is the world’s largest net importer of crude oil, and in recent years, China’s crude oil imports have increasingly come from countries outside the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). While OPEC countries still made up most (57%) of China’s 7.6 million barrels per day (b/d) of crude oil imports in 2016, crude oil from non-OPEC countries made up 65% of the growth in China’s imports between 2012 and 2016.

If Le Pen somehow comes out on top, French politics – not to mention the European Union – will be turned upside down. But even the ostensibly moderate Macron represents, in his own way, a truly radical stance. With both candidates likely to make it to the second round, France is on the verge of a political revolution, regardless of who wins.

After weeks of increasingly more violent protests, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has ordered the army into the streets as the insolvent nation braces for what the opposition has vowed will be the "mother of all protests" on Wednesday.

Flash points on US politics: internal contradict.. Hugh Smith good articles reproduced

We all have a Plan A–continue living just like we’re living now.
Some of us have a Plan B in case Plan A doesn’t work out, and the reasons for a Plan B break out into three general categories:

1. Preppers who foresee the potential for a breakdown in Plan A due to a systemic “perfect storm” of events that could overwhelm the status quo’s ability to supply healthcare, food and transportation fuels for the nation’s heavily urbanized populace.
2. People who understand their employment is precarious and contingent, and they might have to move to another locale if they lose their job and can’t find another equivalent one quickly.
3. Those who tire of the stresses of maintaining Plan A and who long for a less stressful, less complex, cheaper and more fulfilling way of living.

The Fragility and Vulnerability of Highly Optimized Supply Chains

Many people are unaware of the fragility of the supply chains that truck in food, fuel and all the other commodities of industrialized comfort to cities. As a general rule, there are only a few days of food and fuel in a typical city, and any disruption quickly empties existing stocks. (Those interested in learning more might start with the book When Trucks Stop Running: Energy and the Future of Transportation.)
