Santelli Stunned As Janet Yellen Admits "Cash Is Not A Store Of Value". Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. After Alan Greenspan's confessional admission that "Gold is a currency. It is still, by all evidence, a premier currency. No fiat currency, including the dollar, can match it," we found it remarkable that during the Q&A after her speech today that Janet Yellen, when asked about negative rates, admitted that "cash in not a very convenient store of value," seemingly hinting at Bernanke's helicopter and that there will be no deflation in The US ever... Rick Santelli then sums it all up perfectly... "deflation is clearly the boogeyman... and the only thing that will save the middle class."

"I'm Not Stupid" Monsanto Lobbyist Refuses To Drink Weedkiller After Proclaiming "It Won't Hurt You".Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. "Do as I say, not as I do," appears to be the message from a controversial lobbyist who claimed that the chemical in Monsanto’s Roundup weed killer was safe for humans refused to drink his own words when a French television journalist offered him a glass... "I'm not stupid," he proclaims... you be the judge...

[Looks funny but is not .. it is our serious business of war .. read it:]

The Pentagon lost track of sensitive equipment from a $750 million program to help U.S. soldiers spot roadside bombs — and some of it wound up for sale on eBay, Craigslist and other websites, according to a Navy intelligence document obtained by The Intercept.

The report went on to state that “more than 32,000 pieces of equipment were issued” under the program, and the items “are NOT for civilian use and are controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.” The devices went missing because the military units had poor control over equipment distributed to them, according to the intelligence brief.

Another day, another example of the inconceivable incompetence of the U.S. government.
Just yesterday, I published a post titled, Can’t Make This Up – U.S. Providing Aid in Fight Against ISIS in Iraq Alongside Iranian Troops. Here’s an excerpt in case you missed it:
The U.S. has started providing Iraq with aerial intelligence in the stalled battle to oust Islamic State from Tikrit, drawing the American military into closer coordination with Iranian-backed militias spearheading the offensive.

Military officials said they aren’t working directly with Iran. But the intelligence will be used to help some 20,000 Iranian-backed Shiite militia fighters who make up the bulk of the force that has been struggling for weeks to retake the strategic city.

Quite interesting, since last I checked Iran was the most evil, horrific existential threat to humanity on planet earth. [we are or not against Al Qaeda?  If yes Obama was right .. he has to get a balance]

However, it appears providing aid to Iran in Iraq and losing $500 millions in weapons to al-Qaeda in Yemen wasn’t bad enough. America had to put a cherry on top of it all by losing military equipment from a $750 million program, some of which ended up for sale on eBay and Craigslist. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-03-27/pentagon-loses-track-equipment-750mm-bomb-spotting-program-finds-ebay-craigslist

What Deflation? The Price Of Ground Beef Has Doubled Since The Last Financial Crisis. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. Since the depths of the last recession, the price of ground beef in the United States has doubled. Has your paycheck doubled since then? Even though the Federal Reserve insists that we are in a “low inflation” environment, the government’s own numbers show that the price of ground beef has been on an unprecedented run over the past six years...

Why There Is No Wage Growth In America. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. Over the past 2 years the Obama administration has been desperate to boost minimum wages, usually over tedious bickering with republicans and corporations who have resisted such an increase, with neither party realizing that such a measure would not do much to actually boost aggregate spending. Instead, what Obama should have been focusing on was to limit the maximum number of hours worked per week, because as the following chart shows, the reason why weekly pay is rising and aggregate earnings is not due to an increase in hourly wages but because Americans are simply working longer hours every week: not quality but quantity.

Obama Administration Bullies Allies Over Iran Nuke Deal Dissent. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. President Obama is "blowing up our alliances to secure a deal that paves Iran’s way to a bomb," according to European sources close to the negotiations, and as Washington Free Beacon reports, efforts by the Obama administration to stem criticism of its diplomacy with Iran have included threats to nations involved in the talks, including U.S. allies. France has borne the brunt of Obama's wrath as one source in Europe close to the ongoing diplomacy said the US has begun to adopt a “harsh” stance toward its allies in Paris because "the clarifications expose just how weak the Americans’ deal is shaping up to be."

Central Banks Are Paralyzed At The Zero Bound. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. If normalisation is the result of economic recovery we will be familiar with the playbook. However, The Fed has to face the possibility that, for whatever reason, highly suppressed interest rates are not working, and an escape from the zero interest rate bound without economic recovery may have to be contemplated. If interest rates cannot rise, then the dollar itself is ultimately exposed to loss of confidence in the foreign exchanges. The dawning realisation that after recent strength, the dollar is vulnerable after all can be expected to be reflected in a positive sentiment towards gold, which once under way could drive the price up dramatically due to the lack of available bullion.

Yemen "Gulf Intervention" Premium Erased, WTI Tumbles Back Below $49. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. Well that was a quick geopolitical event. On the heels of what was set to be Crude's best week since July 2013, Stratfor clarifying little risk of disruption to crude supplies, Goldman confirming neglible impact from Yemen and more to Iran, and reports from Saudi Arabia that "this [Yemen] operation will not go on for long, I think it will be days," WTI crude has tumbled back to the $48 handle and erased all the "gulf intervention" premium - refocusing on domestic storage concerns.

Syria "Welcomes" Larger Russia Presence. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. Following Vladimir Putin's demands for an "immediate cessation of military activities" in Yemen, AFP reports Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's comment during a recent interview that "with complete confidence that we welcome any widening of the Russian presence in the eastern Mediterranean and on Syrian coasts and ports," including the port of Tartus. Amid the Western-backed opposition National Coalition's planned boycott of talks, Assad pointedly remarked, "the negotiating parties must be independent and must reflect what the Syrian people want... people would not accept that their future, their fate, or their rules are decided from outside."

Greek Deputy FinMin Confirms Athens Is "Prepared For Rift" With Europe. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. Greek government was "always prepared for a rift" with its European creditors - "If you don't entertain the possibility of a rift in the back of your mind then obviously the creditors will pass the same measures as they did with the previous [government]," (which perhaps explains why default risks are soaring back to post-crisis highs).

Will Cash Always Be Trash, Or Will It One Day Be King?. by Charles Hugh-Smith of OfTwoMinds blog,  Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. When the phantom wealth evaporates and risk assets go bidless, cash will once again be king, for the simple reason there will be so little of it.
“Those who avoided debt and risky assets since 2009 have seen their cash lose value when adjusted for inflation, while those who borrowed to the hilt and bought risk-on assets such as stocks, junk bonds and high-end housing have skimmed monumental gains for doing what the central banks incentivized: borrowing money and buying speculative risk-on assets”.

Oil Slides As Inventories Trump Iran-Yemen Push-Pull. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. Crude oil prices have rallied sharply this week on headlines that a coalition of Sunni-ruled nations initiated airstrikes on Yemen against Shiite Houthi rebels. Goldman's Damian Courvalin notes that this rally reversed the sell-off that occurred in part on the rising odds of a deal with Iran being reached. Courvalin expects both events to have negligible near-term supply impacts, with the build in crude inventories set to continue in 2Q15. Longer term, a deal with Iran could lead to greater OPEC supplies although the timing of the sanction relief remains uncertain. It appears today's weakness indicates a dawning realization that there's still too much...

Will Greece Call A Referendum On Euro Membership?. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. "One of the potential options Syriza might eventually consider could be a popular referendum on Eurozone membership – a step that would obviously involve great risks and uncertainties," UBS says, as Athens stares down a tough month ahead and an even tougher June and July.

It's Official: Americans Spent All Their "Gas Savings" On Obamacare. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. We have solved the mystery of why US households did not spend all those billions in "dropping gas price" windfalls - the answer is that they did spend all this money. On Obamacare.
[ If so, he did something very good .. the other thing .. house prices & related , is speculation & crook business of big corporations .. they have to be charged .. Even though, what Obama did was good but insufficient .. there are many brand medicine and related products, that cannot go to “generic” .. it means, poor people cannot get them because the “brand” product is very expensive .. that is a protection to the business of big pharma .. those who pay Obama candidacy .. one of the trap of all Presidents  ]

Final Q4 GDP Unchanged At 2.2%, Below Expectations; Corporate Profits Tumble. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. So much for the "self-sustaining", "escape-velocity" recovery. Again. After rising at an annualized pace of 4.6% and 5.0% in Q2 and Q3, the final Q4 GDP estimate (a number which will still be revised at least 3-4 times in the coming years), slid more than half to 2.2%, the same as the second estimate from a month ago, and below the consensus Wall Street estimate of 2.4%.
[Those who believe that QEs inject new life to an agonizing body, did not pass the test .. QEs only prolong the half-death life of a system , it does not create a new system .. Neoliberalism  start dying since its inception, at the end of the 1980s, after the Washington Consensus. ..At economic level,  it did not passed the Russian test when Yelsin came to power .. the billions of USD invested  to capture this system failed. Such money made a quick stop in Russia and came back to NY banks .. that was the evidence that vulture capital came to life, not a new system, just the “buitre” bankers .. and all those who speculate with sovereign debt, became the rulers of the world. ..  Quize resucitarlo, “pero el cadaver .. hay.. siguio muriendo”  dijo  el poeta Cesar Vallejo. El cadáver al que refirió el poeta era un monstruo que se apodero del alma del ser viviente. En nuestro caso, el monstruo neoliberal, the dark side of creative capitalism: neoliberalism, came to life .. This monster is afraid of Russia and China .. not because they are communists .. because they mixed capitalism with socialism .. as FDR proposed in 1936 in the US .. and Juan Velasco in Peru at the end  of 1960 or Tito in Yugoslavia at the same time, they both were decapitated via “coup d’état” by the neoliberal monster and their servants in the US.. This time, it will be difficult to kill the rulers of Russia and China .. SOEs are stronger than Western big corporations at economic level and have the same military potential to destroy Western capitalism .. This is the current context we are in, and that is the Thesis that I develop in “Lo Inconcluso”, a book that I plan to publish this year .. if I get the money; if don’t I will publish it as free book via internet]

Turkey Devolves Into A Full Police State: Law Grants Unlimited Powers To Weaponized Police Force. Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/27/2015. While a source of much schadenfreude by its neighbors and casual onlookers, Turkey has become a glaring example of what happens to a formerly respectable nation as it devolves entirely into a banana republic with not only authoritarian overtones but a police state to boot. And earlier today, Turkey's conversion to a full blown police state was complete when, after weeks of heated debates and brawls in parliament, Turkey’s government passed a security package expanding police powers, along with an online surveillance law and a discretionary fund for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to fund covert operations.

‘Obama leaving Israel in favor of Iran’ [THAT WOULD BE A GOOD NEWS, but it is not what happens. Obama simply do not talk with the intruder Netanyahu his decisions on Iran .. just to prevent that the intruder get inside the war between Saudis and Iran .. if they do it, the escalation of war will be difficult to stop it.. and Israel will be left in their own .. On the other hand, American people is fed up with Israel intrusion in US foreign politics and with their abuse and war crimes against Palestine .. that explain the why of boycott to Israel business .. This has nothing to do with the government .. this boycott also happens in several countries in Latin America .. it is a rejection of Netanyahu policies in the ME.. If Israelis love him .. they have to enjoy his inferno .. The demand of punishing American people for exercising their democratic right is illegal .. “US lawmakers try to stop Israel boycott Two US lawmakers introduce legislation to punish contractors with the US government that participate in any boycotts against Israel” that won’t stop people boycotts. That will put legislators like Bob Corker under the spot light.. they are pay to defend American interest not Netanyahu’ war mongerism]

‘If Iran talks fail, outcome would be war’. Fri Mar 27, 2015 Mark Dankof says the outcome of failure of Iran nuclear talks would be an “evil and unconstitutional war.” [1st and foremost it won’t be the failure of Iran. They signed the NPT and they allowed the international check their peaceful uses N energy, it is Israel that did not sign it and did not allowed to check of dimona and other sites containing more than 100 nuclear weapons.  2nd, Israel is doing everything possible to undermine and sabotage the negotiations in favor of peace in the ME. The Journal has quoted US officials as saying that the spying operation was part of Netanyahu’s policy. They say Netanyahu attempted to undercut support for a deal by sharing the information with US neocon senators.  3rd, Israel is planning his war of aggression against Iran and Syria in the hope of plundering their oil. To assure the success of such aim Israel need Iran be disarmed an unable to respond their attack. They also need the American bless his plundering. They know that Iran is part of the Russian-China block and they may respond. So, Israel do not care if their war with Iran evolve into WW3.  Netanyahu has decided to put at risk the whole world peace and security to accomplish such objective. The world will not tolerate such act !! ]

What will happen next in Yemen?. Fri Mar 27, 2015 In this edition of Comment, we ask: What will happen next in Yemen?
[Yesterday the Sunnis in the Arab League announced the creation of a regional military force .. of course at the beginning they will try to put down regimes under target by US-NATO sponsors .. and they may coordinate efforts with the Al Qaeda, Al Nustra and the ultra radicals inside the mercenary forces of ISIL .. the latter are the ones that Saudis are afraid of .. they may succeed temporarily but there are memories of the atrocities committed by the US in Iraq, Afghanistan.. and BY ISRAEL AGAINST THE MUSLIMS IN PALESTINE, IN LEBANON AND OTHER SITES .. those memories exist and/or be easy to be refreshed  at will by the factions in the battle field .. it is difficult to forget what happens in Faluya .. we already saw the death of Americans inside Libya and other places .. Once the Arabs get the arms and ammunitions .. they will control their own resources and their own agendas for war too .. they won’t be controlled by the masters of US-NATO and Israel .. The experiment in Yemen will be another shoot in their feet ..  Meanwhile the current war is profiting the arms producers and traders .. and the oil prices will benefit to those who they believe are their enemies now.  .. Today enemies will be our allies & in reverse .. that is what will happen soon or in the midterm]
