Neoliberal
globalization is over. Financiers know it, they documented with graphics
Well that was a week...
Roller-coaster day for stocks –
2 overnight pump efforts failed;
stocks sank into and beyond the US cash open,
then went bid as Bannon headlines hit...
only to slide as reality struck that with Bannon gone,
the probability of war is considerably higher...and an ugly
close into OPEX
The last time Nasdaq fell for 4 straight weeks was May 2016
Energy stocks pretty much ignore crude's idiocy today...
with the panic line in the sand around 9/28...
The Dollar Index ended the week very marginally higher but
the trend was very clear into the close...
Finally, a reminder that 'stuff' is hitting fans - even if
stocks don't really show it... USA
default/devaluation risk is now twice that of Germany...

"Whilst the electric vehicles and lithium batteries
manufactured by these two companies do indeed help to reduce direct CO2
emissions from vehicles, electricity is needed to power them. The carbon emissions generated by
the electricity required for electric vehicles are greater than those saved by
cutting out direct vehicle emissions."

Goldman's second-quarter trading loss in its commodities division
happened after a $100 million
bet on regional natural-gas prices went awry after production problems at a
local pipeline sent prices soaring, decimating
Goldman’s short position...
..
The quarter was the
worst ever for the bank’s commodities unit, which, as WSJ notes, has been one of the firm’s most
consistent profit centers, and a training ground for many of its top
executives, including Chief Executive Lloyd Blankfein. The
trading loss “extended a broader slump
at a company once known as Wall Street’s savviest gambler.”

As
we pointed out earlier, the chances of government agreeing any
kind of debt ceiling deal (and avoiding a government shutdown) is dropping fast
as USA default risk spikes and the Treasury Bill curve
inverts. Goldman Sachs is now
concerned also...
----

"...over the past six months this Congress has been incapable
of getting a doggone thing done. What makes you think they’ll somehow get
their act together in just 12 days?"

POLITICS
La seudo democ y sist duopolico es obsoleto por fraudulento y

"I will dispense for now from discussion of the moral character of
the president's Charlottesville statements. Whether he intended to or not, what he communicated caused racists to
rejoice, minorities to weep, and the vast heart of America to mourn."
----
----
"The 3.5 million possible fraudulent ballots that exist are a
problem that deserves serious immediate attention... Nothing really hinges on it, of course, except
the integrity and honesty of our democratic elections..."
----
----
"He’s
much more isolated than he realizes...you don’t get down to 35 percent approval
and have people in your own party shooting at you and conclude that
everything’s going fine."
----
----
"What has changed...It is not history. There have been no great new discoveries about
Lee...What has changed is America herself. She is
not the same country. We have passed through a great social, cultural and moral revolution
that has left us irretrievably divided
on separate shores...And the politicians are in panic."
----
----
"With President Trump embroiled in one entanglement
after another and constrained by a deeply partisan legislature, the ability of the Administration to pass legislative agenda
seems to be fading... along with investor 'faith' that they
will."
