TOP THREE MEDIA LIES ABOUT SYRIAN
PEACE TALKS: The US-led “Regime Change” Goal Continues. By Shamus Cooke / The
4th Media News | Saturday, January 25, 2014 http://www.4thmedia.org/2014/01/25/top-three-media-lies-about-the-syrian-peace-talks/
[here only extracts]
The lies were
necessary to give the Obama administration an upper hand in the peace
negotiations, which are not being used to pursue peace, but instead, to accomplish the Obama administration’s
longstanding GOAL of SYRIAN REGIME
CHANGE. Here are the top three Western media lies about the Syrian
peace talks.
[The US failed miserable during this theatrical show known as Geneva II. And failed also in conditioning the invitation of
Iran to Geneva II if they support their goal of “regime change”. Iran didn’t accept it, nor come to Geneva II; and Kerry threaten them in very irresponsible way.
Kerry is a loser… I suggest to his bosses:
Get for this ..... another circus!! . Now, let’s
go to the lies]
1ST LIE: THE REMOVAL OF SYRIAN BASHAR AL-ASSAD WAS AN AGREED UPON “PRECONDITION” FOR THE GENEVA II PEACE TALKS.
In fact, the Geneva II communiqué includes this crucial statement:
“[a transition government] could
include members of the present [Syrian] government and the opposition and other
groups and shall be formed on the basis of mutual consent.” Nowhere does it specifically mention or imply President Assad
would have to leave power first. The
Los Angeles Times recently exposed this lie:
“[John] Kerry regularly
cites the “Geneva communiqué,” a kind of peace road map hammered out in June
2012 during a United Nations-organized summit. But this document does not
explicitly call for Assad’s ouster.”
2ND LIE: THE U.S.-BACKED REBEL MILITIAS ARE “MODERATE”
ISLAMIC GROUPS.
The
media narrative paints the U.S.-backed “good” rebels
fighting both the Syrian government and the “bad” al-Qaeda linked rebels. But
the “good” rebels in the
U.S.-backed Islamic Front share the same vision for
Syria’s future as the al-Qaeda rebels: a fundamentalist version of Sharia law, where women live in virtual house
arrest and where religious minorities are second class citizens (non-Sunni
Muslims would simply be butchered, as they are on a regular basis in Syria,
which is again minimized or ignored in the Western media.)
The “moderate rebel”
and top leader in the most powerful militia, Ahrar al Sham, within the Islamic Front declared Ahrar al Sham to
be the “real” representative of al-Qaeda in Syria. The Western media also
continues to ignore the fact that the
“moderate” U.S.-backed Islamic Front issued a joint statement that aligned
itself to the extremist views of Ahrar al Sham, the “real” al-Qaeda.
3RD LIE: NEW EVIDENCE OF
SYRIAN GOVERNMENT “INDUSTRIAL SCALE” TORTURE.
The
Western media recently blasted the “breaking news” of brand new evidence
showing massive “Nazi-like” torture and murder by the Syrian government,
released at the beginning of the Syrian peace talks. The lie here is that the
Western media promoted the inexistent “evidence” as being unquestionably true.
The fact is that such story doesn’t reach first base when it comes to
evidence-based journalism.
The evidence of the “NAZI-like” atrocities was written in a
study paid for by the government of Qatar, which has long funneled cash, guns,
and Jihadis to Syria in aid of the anti-government rebels.
The same biased dynamic
occurred in relation to the infamous chemical weapons attack, where no real
evidence was provided. But when Pulitzer prizewinning
journalist Seymour Hersh reported that the Obama administration lied about the
rebels not having the capacity to perform such an attack, the Western
media simply ignored the legend of journalism. The wrench in the propaganda
machine was simply dislodged.

KERRY’S HYPOCRISY ON SYRIA http://www.4thmedia.org/2014/01/25/kerrys-hypocrisy-on-syria/ Robert Dreyfuss | Saturday, January 25, 2014,
[THIS IS A SMALL EXTRACT, got to the full
article in the web above]
As Kerry said in a press conference
following the first day of talks, it’ll be a long, hard road. “No one should
doubt, no one’s trying to gloss this over, that this is the beginning of a
tough and complicated process,” he said. “It’s no secret that getting to where
we are now has, as I said, been difficult, and peace and stability will not
arrive overnight. But it’s important that this process is now in place. It is
important that the government and the opposition will sit down over these next
days. And we don’t expect a sudden breakthrough.”
Part of the reason no breakthrough
is imminent is that the conflict between the Syrian government and the rebels
is not the only one going on. Parallel to that is the conflict between the
United States, which implacably demands that the government of Bashar al-Assad
be ousted, is the voice of Russia, which says that there is no reason at the outset to
exclude the possibility that Assad and his cohort would remain in place.
On top
of that, there is a regional conflict between Iran, which supports Assad, and
Saudi Arabia, the chief backer of the opposition. If the United States, Russia,
Saudi Arabia and Iran can all agree on the outlines of a new Syrian political
balance, then there’s a chance that the peace talks can succeed. Unfortunately,
in a shortsighted and self-defeating step, the United States and the Syrian
rebels insisted that an invitation to Iran from the UN’s Ban be rescinded, and
it was.
