Duke Energy Warns Of Higher Power Prices As Tight Coal/Gas Supplies Loom This Winter
Millions of Americans could be impacted...
Duke Energy CFO Steve Young said coal and natural gas prices are the highest since 2014, and these two essential commodities are in short supply.
"It's been a while," since we've seen commodity prices like this.
"The winter of 2014, we had a very cold polar vortex winter, and we saw spiking of gas prices," Young said, who was quoted by Bloomberg on Thursday.
He noted the Duke has adequate coal and gas reserves for this fall/winter but stressed a shortage of supplies in the overall commodity market has forced prices higher.

Young said its fossil fuel power generation plants would pass on higher costs to customers. Higher power prices will be another blow to consumers who have already had their real wages crushed by soaring food, gasoline, and shelter costs.
"Regions that rely more on gas or coal for heat and electricity will see rates increase more than regions where a greater proportion of power comes from nuclear, hydropower or renewable energy," he said.

The cause of the energy crunch is due to the rising global demand for fossil fuel as the global energy transition to alternative power sources, such as solar and wind, has been nothing short of a disaster.
Ernie Thrasher, CEO of Xcoal Energy & Resources, the largest U.S. exporter of fuel, also warned about coal supply constraints. He said power companies are already "discussing possible grid blackouts this winter."
Last month, NOAA's 2021 Winter Outlook was published. For the second consecutive winter, it outlined that La Nina conditions are emerging and will impact weather across the U.S.
"Consistent with typical La Nina conditions during winter months, we anticipate below-normal temperatures along portions of the northern tier of the U.S. while much of the South experience above-normal temperatures," the report said.

La fuerza armada está en la obligación se hacer respetar el orden. Pero de debe confiar que lo hagan, lo mas seguro es ORG al pueblo mediante Decreto ley de apoyo a la Educ, Salud, Vivienda y mejores salarios. Esta 1ra etapa requiere de un mínimo de ORG política a nivel de Pdo y Frente. No se debe esperar que el Congreso los apoye. Lo importante es movilizar los Municipios y sacar el pueblo a las calles y buscar AMIGOS en las Cortes y en las FFAA. Si se logra estos amigos se suprime el Congreso y se gobierna con el Ejecutivo (Las Constitucions del mundo lo permiten). Hay que buscar un buen abogado en Constitucion para reforma leyes y gobernar con el Ejecutivo. La ORG y apoyo del pueblo es lo mas importante. Sin pueblo no existe el poder político.
La 2da etapa combina el trabajo político publico con el clandestino: las brigadas. Esta 2da etapa arranca con la transferencia de los medios de producción (minas, bosques, aguas y todo lo que da la naturaleza mas las maquunarias) a productores directos y org en cooperativas. Sin esto no existe poder económico.
La parte clandestina refiere la creación de brigadas. A esto de denomina crear ‘situacion REV’ y sin situación REV jamás habrá cambio radical del sistema Politico y Econ del país. Lo clandestino refiere la creación de brigadas de 9 hombres: 3 snipers o franco tiradorores para dotar de ingresos a la org, 3 choferes para bloquear calles y la salida de tanques del ejercito o la policía y 3 encargados de la prensa y comunicación. Solo con las brigadas de 9 se crea Situacion REV.
Nota aparte 1:
El termino Sit-Rev lo creo Lenin y su real ejecutor fue Trotsky, el encargado de asuntos militares y de org la REV permanente pues había intentos de aplastar la Rev Rusa desde países vecinos. La victoria de Trotsky permitió a Lenin aplicar la NEP (nueva polit-economica) que combinaba capitalismo con socialismo.

Pero ambos Lenin ni Trotsky pudieron solucionar conflictos internos con el campesinado y otros a quienes no llego el socialismo.
