WTI Extends Gains After Across The Board Inventory Draws

“There are supply issues all around the market,”
Oil prices managed gains today, rebounding off an ugly tumble back below $70 (WTI) around the US cash equity open, as supply constraints trumped any Evergrande or Delta related demand concerns.
The rise came as "the oil market will remain tight" for as long as demand concerns do not materialize, Carsten Fritsch, energy analyst at Commerzbank Research, said Tuesday in a note.
"U.S. oil production in the Gulf of Mexico is likely to remain hampered for considerably longer than previously anticipated," he said.
Algos' eyes wil be on API tonight and the official data tomorrow to see just how lasting the effects of Hurricane Ida will be.
API
- Crude -6.108mm (-3.8mm exp)
- Cushing -1.748mm
- Gasoline -432k
- Distillates -2.72mm
Analysts expected crude stocks to drop for the 7th week in a row as the effects of Ida continue, and they were right as API reported a much bigger than expected 6.108mm barrel crude draw (and draws across products and at Cushing)...

Some of the volatility in Tuesday’s trading session may have stemmed from traders adjusting positions ahead of the expiration of Nymex October crude futures.
“There are supply issues all around the market,” said John Kilduff, a partner at Again gegesCapital LLC.
Notably, U.S. stockpiles of the so-called big 4 - crude oil, gasoline, distillate, and jet fuel - are combined, below 2018 levels now, according to data compiled by HFI Research

Finally, this week's slide in U.S. stocks may help reset a historical tie between earnings and inflation that has been out of whack for months. As Bloomberg notes, the relationship is based on the S&P 500 Index’s earnings yield and the annual rate of change in the U.S. consumer-price index. While the yield is typically higher, the opposite has been true since April, according to monthly data compiled by Bloomberg.

'10 For The Big Guy': Politico Confirms Hunter Biden's China, Ukraine Emails Are Legit

Time for another special counsel investigation?
Several emails from Hunter Biden's laptop have been confirmed as legitimate, according to Politico, citing claims in a new book, along with emails released by a Swedish government agency.
Ben Schreckinger’s “The Bidens: Inside the First Family’s Fifty-Year Rise to Power,” out today, finds evidence that some of the purported HUNTER BIDEN laptop material is genuine, including two emails at the center of last October’s controversy.
A person who had independent access to Hunter Biden’s emails confirmed he did receive a 2015 email from a Ukrainian businessman thanking him for the chance to meet Joe Biden. The same goes for a 2017 email in which a proposed equity breakdown of a venture with Chinese energy executives includes the line, “10 held by H for the big guy?” (This person recalled seeing both emails, but was not in a position to compare the leaked emails word-for-word to the originals.)

Recall that news of Hunter Biden's laptop was broken by the New York Post shortly before the 2020 election - resulting in a multi-week Twitter ban on the outlet, and a baseless claim spread throughout the MSM and by notable Democrats including Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) that it was Russian disinformation.

This story is very simple – Hunter Biden dropped off three computers with liquid damage at a repair shop in Wilmington, Delaware on April 12, 2019. The owner, John Mac Issac, examined the three and determined that one was beyond recovery, one was okay and the data on the harddrive of the third could be recovered.
The laptop - while allegedly containing inappropriate photographs of underage girls - revealed that President Biden lied when he said that he had no knowledge of Hunter's business dealings - and was in fact involved with them.
The laptop, which was protected by the password "Hunter02" according to the Daily Mail, was considered a national security nightmare.
One interesting aspect of the fact that it's a POLITICO reporter with a new book confirming the authenticity of the Hunter docs: It was POLITICO -- through the co-Queen of Russiagate frauds, @NatashaBertrand -- who first used CIA to dismiss the docs as "Russian disinformation."
