“ANOTHER COLD WAR IS IMPOSSIBLE
BECAUSE NOBODY CAN AFFORD IT".
Voice of Russia from
UK
[This is just the opinion of the Britts. Here only extracts]
James Delingpole of Breitbart.com
and Alexander Nekrassov of “stirring trouble internationally.com” bring their
bite and banter to some of this week's headline-hitting news, including the
ongoing crisis in Ukraine and less fraught topics such as Banksy, buttocks and
the Blairs. VoR's Tim Ecott moderates.
Ukraine
AN: The interim regime, which is backed by the Americans, is
making one big mistake after another. And what's more embarrassing and
disgraceful is that the Russians are being accused of inflaming tensions in
eastern Ukraine, and false pictures of the supposed build-up of Russian troops
on the border with Ukraine are being shown everywhere. These are pictures from
last year!
"Russia does not want to have
an unstable eastern Ukraine on its border - that is very important to
understand. You do not create a crisis, which is slowly turning into civil war,
on your border. I honestly can't understand why American and European officials
continue to bang the war drum and say those things.
JD: "Both super powers are using Ukraine as a pawn in
their geopolitical power struggle. Troops on the border are a complete red
herring. Any evidence can ony be circumstantial."
AN: "There are accusations made but no evidence provided.
If you look at the Russian wesbites and news coverage, you will see every
statement is supported by facts, photographs witness accounts, documents - the
lot. And that's the big difference between how the West and the Russians
portray what's going on."
JD: "Both the East and West should be doing their
damnedest to ensure that the elections go ahead on May 25, and that Ukraine has
a future independent of both East and West. Of course it's going to have to
trade with both - it's the conduit for a lot of the gas coming from Russia to
Europe - but ultimately Ukraine is a sovereign state. It does need a new
government - the interim government is clearly not up to the task."
AN: "There can't be elections because the one of the main
candidates for the presidency representing the east, Vladimir Tsarev, was
beaten to a pulp. In an atmosphere of intimidation and terrorising candidates
and voters, the elections cannot take place in May. You can't hold an election
when you have a sort of civil war emerging. They have to be postponed."
